I want to repeat that I have already purchased another scooter that I am very happy with and I am
not using the forums in an attempt to resolve an issue with Valley Scooters.
I just want everyone to see first hand what type of "support" they might get if they purchase from Valley Scooters.
In this very thread John claims he never received an email from me that had any part numbers.
Hi ANthony,
Unfortunately I never recieved any emails from you that I can find regarding any parts that were damaged.
Yet somehow John claims that he sent a parts quote to the shipper.
A parts quote was send to the shipper and all you had to do was call them.
How could he have sent the quote to the shipper if he never received the part numbers from me?
This is EXACTLY the type of
customer support run-around I have gotten from day one dealing with Valley Scooters.
Guys, Please let me know what parts it you need.
I posted HERE on these forums the same list of parts that I needed
for the third time and John disappears from this thread for a week. No parts, no phone calls, no email, nothing.
This is very typical of the type of
support crap I have received from Valley Scooters over the past 4 months. John says he will do something but nothing ever actually happens.
Instead of sending me a NEW scooter like I requested BEFORE it was unloaded from the truck, basically asking John for the same treatment that he gave Showme...
By the way, the first scoot I got from John was even worse and I didn't accept it. The one I speak of was the second one he sent.
...John thought it would be better for me to
try and get cash back from the shipping company and use it to buy
parts that he did not have in stock anyways.
I have been working on clearing out all the folks who were waiting for Roketa parts for the last 4 months.
The icing on the cake is that John wants to make it look like this is all my fault.
Again If you can still file the claim, you should. Although I think that waiting so long may have been a mistake on your part.
...A parts quote was send to the shipper and all you had to do was call them.
If only it were that easy. I did, after all, place at least a dozen calls to Valley Scooters. And for the record, I called the shipping company twice and I got no help from them. John knew this because I told him in an email...
You told me that you were going on vacation and I should contact Chad at Global Trans about filing a claim. I left messages for him but he never called me back. I also emailed you part numbers for the pieces that were damaged.
Please contact me by phone or email and let me know what I can expect regarding this broken part.
Reputable companies protect their reputation. And when a company is doing business properly they will have fewer problems with customers and they will be able to do more to resolve them.
The fact that John has let this spiral downward publicly for over a week without taking any action to try and change it's course speaks volumes.
John is probably hoping that this thread gets deleted or buried in the forum. But I will refer to this thread when appropriate to try and prevent this information from getting lost.
If John cared about me as a customer he would have called me like I asked him (several times) and together we might have been able to resolve this issue with the shipping company. However John did not care enough to return my calls. As far as he was concerned he already got paid and the problem was now between me and the shipping company. And since I am not a customer of the shipping company you can probably guess how important I am to them. If anyone has any leverage to deal with the shipping company it is the company that is hiring them. It certainly wasn't me.
I made it perfectly clear that I wanted PARTS and John knew that he did not have them so he avoided me and ignored by calls for help. He did not even have the guts to tell me that he did not have the parts in stock. The messages here speak for themselves.
I want to warn anyone that is wanting to get into scootering that buying a scooter online from a dealer like Valley Scooters can take all of the fun out of it for a long time.
Take a close look at the
Valley Scooters website. Read the warranty page. Read the shipping page. Keep in mind that
NONE of the many problems I experienced with my "new" scooter were covered under any kind of warranty. Keep in mind
all of my problems happened in the first 90 days and I STILL did not get anything from Valley Scooters. You will also notice that Valley Scooters website no longer claims that they stock parts for the scooters that they sell.
My suggestion to anyone thinking about buying a scooter online is to try and place a parts order for the item you are considering from the dealer you are considering ordering from. That is what I should have done. If I would have known that John did not have any parts for the scooter I was buying I would not have placed the order. Instead I was misled by information that was on their website, information that IS NO LONGER POSTED ON THEIR SITE!
Do not trust anything posted on a website. (except for my advice
) It is too easy for the website owner to change the site and remove anything that you were counting on.
If you receive a scooter and it is damaged DO NOT ACCEPT IT under any conditions. Some dealers will promise everything but they will deliver nothing. They may even threaten to charge you for restocking.
Do not accept the scooter. You may end up with a piece of junk that you will never feel safe riding.
My advice is do not buy from Valley Scooters. They have shipped damaged containers (as documented by the shipping company), they use at least one shipping company (Estes) that has been known to severely damage scooters, they do not return phone calls after the sale when you need help, they do not have parts for scooters they sell and they will not tell you this up front, they do not follow through and make good on promises that they make. Again, this is not just my opinion. All of my claims are clearly documented in the preceding messages of this thread and John / Valley Scooters continues to have the opportunity to refute any of my comments.
In closing I want to acknowledge the outstanding job the moderators of this site have done. I know it is not pleasant for them to read these types of threads. I appreciate that this information was not deleted or modified in any way. However I agree this thread should probably be relocated to the Dealers, Good and Bad forum. If I would have known this thread was going to turn into this type of discussion I would have posted it there.
I want to thank everyone that took the time to read this message and I hope it helps someone from making a bad decision like I made.
