Too big idle jet I guess? Incorrect air/fuel mixture?

Your carb most likely has a Air Ratio Mixture Screw(IF there is a screw on the RIGHT Side by the AIR FILTER SIDE). If there is a SCREW on the LEFT Side by the INTAKE MANIFOLD you have a Fuel Ratio Mixture screw.
What you want is to get the HIGHEST IDLE FROM the FUEL OR AIR RATIO MIXTURE that is what your trying to accomplish. Once you do that if it is idleing to high after the adjustment then USE the IDLE SPEED SCREW to LOWER your idle so that your rear wheel just barely wants to turn.
AIR RATIO RIGHT OF CARB CENTER TURN IT 1/8 TURNS AT A TIME: To LEAN the Mixture Turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE. To RICHEN the Mixture Turn it CLOCKIWSE.
FUEL RATIO LEFT OF CARB CENTER TURN IT 1/4 TURNS AT A TIME: To LEAN the Mixture Turn it CLOCKWISE. To RICHEN the MIXTURE Turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE.
START YOUR ADJUSTMENT FROM WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY SET OUT: IF ON THE FIRST Adjustment the IDLE GOES DOWN you are going the wrong way.
Only turn it 1/8 or 1/4 at a time and wait about 10 seconds or so to allow the motor to adjust to the new setting and listen to the IDLE IF it goes up REPEAT until the IDLE goes down or does nothing Then turn it the opposite direction 1/16 or 1/8. Lefty

Dident quite work..put in a new plug..ended up with the fuel mix screw about 1 1/4 turns out ant the air mix almost flush with the car body..seems a little lean...but it runs off idle when warm now...but not quite zippy off idle..throttle responce takes a sec...this is getting annoying!!

Your a little off on the adjustment mixture that is all. If you have an AIR RATIO which most 2ts come with they are very finicky. A small amount off on either direction makes a big difference. Try just 1/16 turns doesn't take much on the AIR RATIO mixture carbs. Also make sure your Air Filter is clean because that will throw off your adjustment quite a bit. Lefty

You misunderstood, there are two different types of carbs. Lefty Ones that have a AIR RATIO MIXTURE Adjustment like this one: Ones that have a FUEL RATIO MIXTURE Adjustment like this one:

My carb looks more like the first pic..but I definatly have a fuel mix adj. Screw not an air mix...I screw it all the way in..scoot dies...allscrew it out and it idles up a bit..but if I give it any gas it bogs and dies...the other screw just adjusts the idle...it runs pretty good now..but when its hot I still have a sticky spot right off idle...should I richen it up just a touch?
