Got a big bore kit installed and The issue I'm having here is that it has more power but won't go any faster than 40 mph which is how fast it went before the install
The guy that installed the kit told me that in order for it to go faster i would have to ride at 35 mph until I hit 300 kilometers and the rings wore in. I know I need to wear in the rings but it should have gone faster than 40.
I looked up more on this and thought maybe the issue was that there was no new CDI installed with the big bore or maybe he didn't drill out the carb?. But he told me it should be faster regardless despite this.
Well I didn't think so sense the stock cdi is restricting the Rpms. if the rpms are restricted doesn't that mean it will have more power but not be able go faster when it hits the max rpms?.
Well anyway I don't know, This is really annoying... Anyway would really appreciate the help. Thanks

Try tuning the CVT with lighter weights or heavier ones if its screaming . I went from 8 gram to 5 gram and wow it was faster on my old 4T

That may work but I don't understand. Shouldn't it be faster because it's 100cc?. I just asked for a basic upgrade, I told him to forget the weights and any other upgrade. i just want a bigger engine to go a little faster but it's not going any faster at all. Any idea why?.
Also I don't think it's screaming. Not sure what that means, sorry.

There's more things involved in installing a big bore kit especially the 100cc kit, the carb needs a bigger jet which i hope whoever installed it did. If you have the stock jet installed still i wouldn't drive it until you install a bigger jet, i suggest putting on an after market open air filter, heavier cvt weights and a stronger belt. All things combined speed up your scoot it takes several variables to achieve desired results, you can't just slap on a kit and boom its a speed demon takes time, money, parts and patience.

I had a secret 63 and after it blew up I put on a 50mm or 82cc BBK . Take off and uphill was faster but had the same top end.
Screaming as in too light of weights so it sounds like lighter weights will help you as they did for me
I put a BBK on my 2T and wow it was 20 MPH faster

So I just converted a 50cc scooter to 100cc scooter with no performance increase?. i mean it's going exactly the same speed. 42mph...
I didn't know it was possible for a 49cc scooter to beat a 100cc scooter in a race of the same engine but one being upgraded in power. This sucks.

Should be faster uphill and on takeoff . Your CVt weights and gears determine the speed more so than engine size

you have to do more mods, the kit alone isn't gonna cut it, i do big bore kit out of my house and those that just buy a kit and nothing else the results are poor. Your gonna have to invest in more mods.

shouldn't the engine size at least speed it up 1mph?.

No, you could even bottleneck the performance and make it worse if you kept the jetting the same and everything else stock.

Thanks. That sucks. What would be the easiest route to get it to 55 mph?. i didn't want to spend to much time.

Your going to have to spend tons of money to get to 55, my scoot can reach 55 but I spent probably 500 dollars or more in mods, its not worth it unless you just like to tinker with the scoot for a hobby like i do. It would be better to sell it and buy a bigger scoot or get a 2t.

I have a project scoot i'm putting parts on now with the cheapest budget i can do, i put the 100cc kit on it, a uni, performance coil and cdi, new belt, dr pulley sliders and its still a turtle compared to my main scoot with all the bells and whistles. I'm going to get a performance exhaust, performance variator, and change the clutch springs and be done, it will still probably still max around 45-48 mph since i'm not changing the gearing.

i'm speaking of true speed not speedo, i can max my 50 mph speedo at half throttle, its not accurate.

How much more speed will I get with lighter roller weights?. And Sorry. I'm not hat michael . And what should I do about the carb situation? Btw i was talking about the speed on the pedometer.

And how light of roller weights exactly?.

|
Post by michaeljackson on Feb 11, 2013 0:40:16 GMT -5
Does the size of the engine effect he speed at all?. This is really weird to me.
I mean like is it the combination of the big bore and the roller weights that makes the difference rather than just the roller weights alone?.
