I just build a 60mm stroke, and 63 mm bore, 187cc , gy6 engine.\ this engine will be used for drag racing , 1/8 track, kind of got a contest going in our little town about who had the fastest scooter. The rider weight will be about 140 lbs, wont be me , too fat. I need advice on a good starting point for these things. #1, roller weights # 2 which springs for the Hit man clutch
I had the engine up to 6500 rpm today on the road out front, and it did not blow so I was happy with that. ;D So any drag racing scooter dawgs out there, fill me in. I used to drag race MC's in the early 90's and an old Nova in the last 10 years, but racing scooters is a new ballgame.
You need fast pickup speed, so your rollers should be on the light side. From what I hear on the forum, on a 50cc start with 6 gram, 4 gram, and 8 gram, and mix and match. I don't know if your variator or gearing is different from the 50cc, but if it is, then these values won't be of much help to you.

The motor is a gy6 150 cc, that has a big bore 63 mm bore cyl, and a stroker crank , that is 60 mm stroke, It comes out to 187 cc , and a little bigger cam. It has a 30 mm flat slide carb on it now, open muffler, you know SS open baffle, with screw in plug to make it not so loud. I work on scooters part time, and this is the bosses bike really, but he is bigger than me and he sure as hell cant ride it. I became a member on the board about 2007, just dont post much, lurk a lot. Come on guys , there must be riders on here that have gone to the track to play a little.

If it's a 150 with a BBK you should drop down to 10g rollers or even 9g Dr. Pulley sliders. Gear that tranny right and you'll do burnouts without the bleach! Make sure you have the 115mm variator and matching drive plate. A good kevlar belt would be in order as well. DON'T get stuck blowing a belt on your first run! What jet size do you have in the carb AND do you have a free flow intake/ airbox?

We here in Puerto Rico race scooters every week at the drag strip. We also always run high performance parts such as Forged Pistons, Forged Rods, Weld parts of the crankshaft. Port and Polish the head. use High Performance Springs and Titanium Valve Retainers, Stainless Steel valves, Flatside Carb such as the Mikuni. We also run NOS, Alcohol and Nitromethane! Run no Exhaust system just manifold. Run with no fan nor any engine covers since its just a quick pass and shut down the scooter. Need any advice let u know.

marklorenzi: I just bought one of the Fleetwoods. They look like a clone of the Honda XRM's they sell overseas. It is in transit now and I should get it this week. I will try to post my experience here. Call me the guinea pig hahaha.
