either way, just make sure your marks are lined up to make sure the cam lobes are not making any contact with your rocker arm and applying pressure to your valves but they must of been pretty tight Alright then. Thanks for your guidance. The fan side is indeed lined up right with the T, the holes match the description of Top Dead Center, and everything seems in order. I tried setting my in to .003 and my out to .004, but I ended up over-tightening the out to .003, which should work anyway, ey? Either way, I now wait for the morning to start my scooter up to check for tapping.

I finished the valve adjustment!
Can you guys help me listen for "tapping"? I hear the feintest clicking noise, but I'm not sure that's what I'm listening for. Everything seems to be in working order, but I can't ride it yet due to my foot injury.

i was on a old page didnt see none of your updates thats why i put the ? to see how it was riding Thanks for checking! I posted a video in case anyone heard any clicking, but I am unable to ride it yet because my ankle is still killing me. There still seems to be an issue with the throttle which I'll be posting a video of later on.

Alright, I tightened the throttle cable and the throttle seems more responsive. Yesterday the battery was too dead to start it and my kickstart just spins around full circle without the 10mm bolt I broke, so the cheap Chinese battery has been sitting on my battery tender for over 18 hours now. With any luck it will start, but my new battery is on its way in the mail anyway.
Found my old work boots and my ankle is feeling much better today so later on I plan on going for a ride. Even though it's about 11 degrees outside, haha.
Expect a video update!

Miserable day today. Nothing went as planned.
I got my license plates and changed my temporary plates out. The battery I ordered came in the mail. Read the weather report and geared up ready to go for a ride... Then I noticed snow outside. It was snowing! Despite the weather reading, it was snowing.
No matter, hm? Well then I tried to start my scooter anyway... Wouldn't start. It would start and then die. I think it has to do with being almost on empty and sitting in the cold for over a week. So now I am diagnosing my no-start issue.
Using 10w-30 oil which should be good for temps down to -30, using Heet gas treatment which is supposed to resolve this issue. Can't check the A/F screw as instead of a screw it seems to be some kind of copper plug of sorts? Gonna try cleaning the carb later and see if that fixes it, unless I keep trying and somehow succeed.
You can stop expecting a video, as nothing is going according to plan...

It would seem I can finally hit 35mph, no problem. ;D
After almost two months of hard work, frequent tinkering, removing the carb multiple times, adjusting the valves, and ordering new jets I can finally hit 35mph in mere seconds. No longer am I struggling to hit 25mph over the course of sixty seconds. Now I just rev up to WOT and am able to cruise at whatever speed I desire! No longer am I limited to just these suburban roads.
Thanks to the help of everyone on this forum I am able to travel to more than just the store a few blocks away, in fact I plan on using my scooter to attend college in the spring.
Until my next bit of maintenance there is now a happy ending to this story that has been this thread.

Hi Outstanding Long time no see, i do hope every thing is fine and well for you and yours Im so very happy for ya, its good to see you get her running well Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank Thanks, Hank! Wish the best for you as well. I haven't been posting much in the forums because of all the "drama" about where scootdawg is heading for now... Plus my life as been pretty stagnant as far as scooters go just because of all the bad weather we've been having lately. Today alone I was about to go for a scooter ride when it started snowing out of nowhere! :[ Tried going for a ride the other day despite the icey weather and I ended up wiping out and my scooter did a full 360 in the road after I fell off, haha.
