hey guys/gals have a question about my headlights.
ok on dim when looking at the bike facing me it looks as if one side is burned out, switch to brights they are both on.
is this normal and how they are suppose to be with this scooter model?
2012 taotao atm150-a
I can take some pics if ya need

Probably burnt out bulb, my wife's was like that when I bought it. It used the B35 style Christmas tree bulbs. The low on one side was out but on high both bulbs worked. I converted hers to H4 but you can just buy new bulbs

seems that the bulbs that are on mine look like bulbs that go in a car, the bulb has dim and bright elements, I noticed that when I switched to brights. On the bulb that does work on dim I noticed that theres 2 elements one for dim and one for bright.
but since you said that your wifes bulb was burned out, I bet mine is also errr no wonder the dims suck lol.
Thanks mate, peace

ok I have a question, autozone dont sell the bulb that my scooter calls for. scooter calls for: HS1 12v 35/35w bulb
Autozone only sells: HB2 12.8v 60/55w
will that higher watt be to hot for my scooter? and would it even work seeing how its a 12.8v and not a 12v?
thanks

Also, if your bulb that is not showing low beam looks to be good (the element still looks in tact) then try switching the bulbs around just to make sure it's not a wiring issue. If your known good bulb works on the side with the low beam out you know the bulb is bad.
*tip - make sure not to touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers. The oils on your skin can greatly reduce the life of the bulb or cause the glass to explode. If you do touch them (almost impossible not to...) don't panic. Use an Alcohol swab or some rubbing alcohol and clean the glass.

yep thats the bulb on ebay that I use, also I did switch the bulbs around and it does work on the other side so yes I believe its blown, plus it has a dark spot on the glass.
Im thinking that it came that way, but I dont think im going to call the company as it will take a few weeks to ship to me , I will just buy one I guess. Ive been just using the high beam for not down dark streets

I also have a taotao ATM 150 that came with a burnt out blinker. AutoZone directed me to Wal-Mart for the bulb! LOL

On some scooters on low beams only one of the bulbs light, i know it doesnt look quite right but thats how some are setup from the factory, one bulb for low beams and both bulbs light up on high. Heres a dual light conversion for a Zuma which uses that system , the conversion should work for you as well
