Can any body help me out please!! I got one of them gy6 vanguard xcaliber 50cc mopeds. I don't know what to do know.. Please help!

Ok so One part at a time my friend...test and tune each one... when i put the 1500 torque spring i lost mph on top end because my weights arent heavy enough to open it all the way. I went back to stock spring after changing out roller weights so many times it got to be a pain in the ass cuz i never got the top end back. I got a 50mm big bore kit 2000rpm clutch springs perf. exhaust.

Your gearing is only going to let you go a certain speed buy new gears 49/17

Lets see, return all the hp springs to stock ones in your clutch, 49/17 gears in the tranny, 7 to 8 gram sliders in your variator, drill 4 3/8 holes in the underside of your airbox lid, put the airbox back on then..... hang on
I can say you have changed the stock 139 power curve, when you understand this, and in how these parts changed the power curve, you will understand why the stock springs are better. And why heaver weights in the variator are better as well.

Scooters are not like a Crock pot....where you can toss in 10 different things...then come out with a nice bowl of beef stew. Also your speed is limited by your gearing...you could put a 350 Chevy in that thing..and still get the same speed..due to the gear ratio...

I'm kind of getting it. well it's a slow process for me. I'm trying to really understand how the gear sizes work. the reason is I finally received the 49/17 gears from scrappydogscooters and I just realized that they sent me the wrong size... it wasnt the 49/17 they sent me a 50/16. They are sending me the right size at the moment. would the 50/16 gearing be good to put on or just stick with the 49/17? Thanks!

I'm slowly understanding how the gear ratio works.. Thanks

try them and if they don't work send them back i thought stock gears were around 50/16 i could be wrong though, i haven't got the gears yet mine maxes out at 48 gps wont go any faster i'm gonna try a dr pulley variator kit its bigger for more belt travel if i gain 2 mph i'm good, actually i'm good now but 50 top speed just sounds great lol

Okay I finally got the 49/17 gears from scrappy and I just installed them yesterday... There is STILL NO increase in speed or what so ever. What am I doing wrong? I'm not trying to make my moped go for racing, I'm just tired of losing speed when I'm going uphill. I'm slowly trying to understand how everything works together. It sucks that I'm in Hawaii and everyone here is all about 2 stokes.

The gears are only going to help you add speed to your top end range, meaning that you will be able to go faster ONLY IF your scooter can even do it. I wouldn't up-gear unless you max out your current gears at only 1/3 throttle or less. Also, they aren't going to help going up hills. With the gears (from what I understand) every little bit you add to your top end range, you lose a tiny bit in acceleration. If you start going up hill you're still not going to be able to hit it like a car.

I love it. I have been away for several months and come back to the same old sing song. It's simple. Get a bigger scoot. What speed do you need? Need to run the interstate? A good EFI 250 will do OK if most of your running is short distance. Othe wise you need a 400. Going out there where the traffic runs 60 or so? A EFI 250 is OK. If 45 to 50 will be safe, A good 150 with water cooling and EFI will be all right. An Air cooled 125-150 is ok for short runs of up to 50 but better for 40 to 45. A 50? 25 to 30 is about it for steady running
YOu can talk all you want, you want to ride more tnana little, with a belt CVT machine, by a scoot out of the box that will do the job stock.
sorry but 90$ of the hop up BS is Bull do do.
Cheers
