Hello so just wanted to do something today well yesterday Saturday. It started to bog here and there then boom couldn't drive over 30 mph or so. So going to order it. I cleaned the jets too. But I think I found the problem. What you guys think? I'm pretty new and learning how to. I do have some mechanical skills but on small ic engine. Anyway's, look at the pic. While looking at scrappy dog scooter website and this is what they say. " Carburetor diaphragm Bike won't run past half or so throttle? Look into the carb with the intake boot off and watch the throttle slide as your gunning the gas. If it's not going all the way up, you've likely got a leaking diaphragm" So I guess I found my problem. What you think?

Looks like you found your problem. Probably isn't sealing with that rip. Just order a carb repair kit for 15-20 dollars and you will be back up and running.

Looks like its the stock carb. I think one of the dealers here should have a kit to fix it You'll get a lot more for it if it runs right if you decide to sell it.

How can you be buying a 250 if you can't afford a 20$ repair? =I I'm buying the scooter in coming up weekend I get paid soon. But right now I have little money. Bro when you got bills first comes bill then little parts. For example I already order the part that is needed. I dubt I need a carb kit. Everything move freely and is very clean. Already clean everything. Just because I can afford other things doesn't mean I have many money left after words. My bills are close to 2000 dollars per month. But I get paid soon so will be buying 250 and fix her up.

Buying a second scooter isn't a bill it's a luxury. You can make quite a few 20$ repairs for the cost of a used scooter. You want a second scooter, you need a diaphragm. Want/need. Learn the difference.

Learn the difference. What's better driving a scooter a 250 or a 150 on interstate? It's a need my friend. I drive pretty far. I need the 250 for speed. My car is having small problem and I have no second transportation for work. The 250 I would be paying 550. Need to figure out the temp guage and fuel gage and rebuilt the motor. It wouldn't cost that much beside the motorcycle is in running condition all lights work everything except what I mention. My 150 need more then that. But notice we're on 125 and up yet not 250 or over. So my 150 I'm putting work into it. If I wanted a bit more spending on 150 I can get a new 150 for under 1,000. Anyways it doesn't matter. Diaphragm is for my 150.

Instead of getting a 2nd scoot why not fix the 150 and use that money towards a better 250? You should be able to find a Honda Reflex for around 2k-2.5k in pretty good shape or just get a new China 250 for $1800. Sounds like the $500 one is going to be a lot of work and downtime until you get it done.

I would say you didn't "need" the diaphragm since at first you weren't worrid about it. I say do what you want to do and don't listen to anybody's under rotational advice on how to live. I wasn't worried before and if this solve the problem then it was diaphragm. My scooter was running ok. Then it would start bogging at 45mph then it would start boging lower and then lower within some time. To the point that I cant even drive it smoothly without bogging behind a ale. What else can it be? And why would scrappydog scooter w/e it is called advertise. I'll be happy if it get back on running condition.

I think when it first wipping little by little started boggin the more it wip the more it bog to the point where now it bog. You don't think this is the problem? There is many people that confirm that rip diaphragm cause trottle problem that I have. Beside it connect to main jets. I think I hit bingo. Atleast I get it running.

Yeah it is the diaphragm. I was talking about where another member was saying blah blah about how you should spend and that certain items are luxuries and basically inserting unwanted advice since you know what you want to do.

I don't want you you misunderstand so i deleted the post. I was saying you didn't need it as in this is your only transport(and have to have it) because you were going to buy a 250. That is what i meant.

Fixing a scooter is part of the hobbies. I've done many weeks investigating what I'm going to be spending on the 250. The 250cc scooter does run and idle. Here is the pic and vid. That is what i meant. 250 would be for last resort. My car making a noise when doing sharp right turn even though. But within time the scooter would be in better condition by buying things one by one. I understand you. So using that 250 which works right now while my car in shop would be great. I dubt my brother would let me barrow his. And renting a car well reather have a 250cc.

If front wheel drive car and it is popping you need a cv shaft or half shaft depending on car.
I hear ya. your brother must be a jerk. If anybody even friends need something from me then it's there if i got it to give/loan.
I would say diaphragm will fix your problem.

Another thing. Here a few things wrong with my 150.
Compression is low (piston). But I'll find out more.
There is vibration that my engine causing (comes and go). Would Diaphragm fix that?
My fuel guage don't work. Need full dashboard anyways since plastic broken
Mirror has signal lights which is broken physical which fell to the ground.
Motor in high rpm throw so much oil that it drain all the oil. But no smoke coming out from muffler. All oil goes to filter box then fall. There a fix by putting a catch can.
I owe DMV 200+ bucks
Valve of the wheels rear need to be change. Does not hold air anymore. So front need to be change as well.
I had so much problem with this scooter when I got it that I want the 250 and maybe get it fix and use it.

It would not affect compression.
vibration = maybe.
Honestly i would get another scoot(that works) or fix your car if it is only popping on turns. That scoot sounds like it needs massive amounts of work.
Burn it. J/k but it will cost you some buku buck for all that. Tie that oil line up high and put a little breathe filter from autozone on it and see if it still leaks oil, and if not plug hole in filter box.
good luck, if not burn that cursed thing. J/k

I would get my car going before my scoot, but thats me. I value driving when its raining and not getting wet.
I hate getting wet when a fem is not involved.

With that many miles on the 250 be prepaired for atleast a few $20+ fixes. Might even run into the same carb issue soon if it's a vacum operated slide. It's a nice looking bike though, I just passed on a BMS that was pretty much the same scoot.. purely because it was puke copper orange color, I just couldn't do it! mehehe.. ;-)
