encase anyone cared i found a bws 50cc locally that had a engine swap to the bws 100cc, also has a couple of upgrades such as rear shock and the muffler. other then that im not quite sure what was done with it but it was quite a bit faster then the kymco super 9 i test drove. im picking it up tonight and looking forward to ripping it apart and seeing what has been done. with this platform i can get a 124cc bbk and still have it registered as a 50cc . it should also help quite a bit with resale value when it comes time to sell as 124cc would be a huge selling point if registered as a 50cc. not to mention the aftermarket parts look super cheap compared to most other ones ive checked out.

You know... I wish before people start suggesting a 150cc or higher scooter, They would get some info... Most ALL threads I look through it's the same ol thing.. Well, I for one am a Fat man and I look crazy on a scooter.. But my scooter gets 45mph with my large frame on it... I have a benelli X50i when the wind is down 45-47 religiously and about 40 to 43 into the heavy wind.. I ride around town mostly and am having a crazy fun time... Though I can ride to work around 12 miles away and getting up to 45 is perfect.. The cops out here won't bother us even though we are on a 50cc going faster.. As long as your not riding dangerous. I am going to mod it out next season thanks to the people on here.. They have been great as I don't know much.. When I decide I want to highway ride and need power, I will buy a motorcycle.. But for my and most other peoples needs, I 40-45 mph scooter is just fine.. Also, I know my scooter is under stress but for 700 bucks and 840 miles on it when I bought it, It's damn fine with me.. I now have over 1,000 miles on it. I filled my car up only 1 time going on 4 weeks... I'm happy as a clam Happy riding whatever you do...

I'm happy as a clam Happy riding whatever you do... exactly... people ask for info on 50cc's because of the laws. its quite hard for a cop to know if one has been modified but its almost impossible to insure a 150cc scooter as a 50cc one. tickets are a way of life. if you wanna speed and break the law you pay the price, if however you want something faster cuz its safer to be able to accelerate when needed i see no problem with bending the insurance policy slightly... i havnt had much time to rip my new wheels. i just bought it and got home from the insurance place, but in the parking lot i was able to get to 60km/h quite easily and only slowed down cuz i was running out of road. im guessing itll top out around 80-90km/h which is fine for now. its not running the best but with some tuning im sure ill have quite the little "50cc " power plant. now its time for me to figure out if i have a 50cc bike with a 70cc kit or if i in fact have a 100cc yamaha engine. the previous owner bought it as is and knows almost nothing about the mods, but he did include an extra larger aftermarket carb that apparently wasnt running the best when the original owner tried it. who knows, with future mods maybe itll end up being usefull...
