I am considering picking up a Kymco Super 8 this weekend, and wanted to get some parts ordered.
The scooter is brand new and I was going to get some parts ordered from day 1.
Is it worth changing the clutch to a performance model? NCY any good? Do the clutch springs make a difference and how so. Would the 2000K do well for take off?
How about the large spring behind the clutch - what color works best for take off but not a lose at top speed.
10g or 11g Dr Pulley Sliders? Im 240lbs
Is a variator worth the money?
Basically I would like to hear from personal experience what setup works best for both speed and acceleration.

All those things worked wonderful for my 50cc. By the time you buy all the parts you can just buy the transmission kit and be done, I wish I had for the 50, and I am going to for the 150. If you get a high performance clutch, you'll want a HP clutch bell. Those two alone are more than half the cost of the whole shebang! The performance clutch (they come with high RPM springs) makes the engine rev up a bit more before the clutch spins out and engages. 2K was fine for my 50cc, but in a 150 or better I can see how that might get a little 'out of control' for the commute. Most kits come with 1K. The big torque spring helps hill climbs if you got em. NCY is reputable, I have their basic performance clutch and bell in my 50cc and last season it survived 1,000 miles with 230 pounds of me on it, in the hill city. Thats not very long of an endurance test, but I was not gentle with it Of course... Don't do any of this before a good PDI and you put some miles on it... makes sure it's running good in stock form before you go foolin with it

I would recommend an mrp pipe, 38-45 idle jet and 115 -120 main uni filter pod and a Dr pulley variator I weight 300 lbs so I use lighter rollers 11g to 12g but the stock 13g is fine for most people. Don't boher buying a yoshimura pipe or any type of cdi the yoshi pipe is a bad and expensive joke and the super 8 has a propriatary CD I made only by kymco it is not hackable. I top out at 68 MPH and still get about 65 MPG.

Thanks for the help- I am reading mixed ideas on the big clutch spring/torque spring whatever its called.
Some say leave the stock on in others say change it. I guess the middle of the road in the 1500 rpm setup.
