you have a style in mind? retro, space shuttle, stealth bomber (angular straight edges with lots of compound angles)
been impressed with just about every znen, the quality is usually good, the one i wasnt impressed with was slower than all the others i had ridden, and i ride wot most of the time.

We got our Roketa MC-75-150 scooters from mxmotorsports.us. They were $999.00 delivered, total price. We have about 5000 km on them, no problems and after some mods we are really cruising. We have Bridgestone 130/70-13 tires on the rear, Pirelli 130/60-13 on the front. I have mixed weights in the variator, K&N air filter with a modified mount, and boric acid in the oil. They ride like a dream.

I concur with the Puma, or other Znen based bike. The Znen Rowdy 150 is the one way to ride a 150 - comfortably, without jeopardizing your manhood. $1500 give or take a bill, mail order or brick and mortar.

i would stay way from 10 inch wheels, the small wheel shock combo doesn't take much of the shock out of cracks, dips, potholes, and other such road way conditions. i rode one for a while, a bump at 45 doesnt get dampened much. they used to make a 13 inch retro but not anymore. i would go for something with 12 to 13 inch wheels. The interceptor, or as it used to be called the F4 is a decent scoot, (wasnt the fastest).
the body type you want would be helpful.

As for body type, something sporty would be nice but since our main road speed is 55mph (US 223) I would like to be able to hit that speed to keep up in traffic.
I already have a few 50cc mopeds for around town but it would be nice to take a 20 mile trip to Blissfield from time to time and to do that I need to do 55mph.
Thanks for the help everyone.

I would recommend you check out the Kymco Super 8. I have one and I love it. It is a very dependable and fast scoot.

Mike I don't think you'll get that sort of speed with a low-priced 150. Maybe when Honda gets its updated PCX out - but you know that won't be cheap.

Mike Hi Mike Imho i would then recommend something larger say in the 200 to 250 cc range If the speed limit is 55 you really want a scoot capable of 65 to 70 mph wot to be comfortable and safe at 55 to 60 mph on that main road so as not to stress the engine A 150 would have to be at wot all the time and thats not desirable Take care and ride safely Yours Hank

i have to agree, but firstly sporty style doesnt equal speed, and 55 mph for 20 miles, you need a quality scoot or step up past 150.

Well what I really want is a Honda CBR250R but at 4G's thats not happen for at least another year and yes I also agree a something larger then a 150 would be better for 55+ type speeds.
I just would like a good starter bike that way I can get my motorcycle endorsement and started riding more but at the sametime I got 2 kids, more bills then I can think of and a ungrateful women lol so needless to say money is the problem.

Mike I think what you really want is used. Used Chinese, if you can find one, will save HUGE money. Google or Bing "VOG" and you'll find 260cc's in the $500-$800 range - some of them do in fact run. And if you get one that isn't destroyed by improper setup, you can cruise at highway speeds. I have an updated VOG-type, 295cc's, and I'm thrilled at performance.

a vog will do it, otherwise 1400 will get you an old body style ninja 250 with low miles. like 2006ish 75 mpg, 100mph

Mike so you have a few 50cc scoots ?? know your around the engine, CVT, etc ? got a compression gauge set up? spare battery ? if you answer yes to 2 /3 hit the streets--go hunt up at least a 250cc china used scoot. alot of people , get frustrated when its not a easy fix and just let em sit for a year or 2, then sell 'em. trying to get a lil $ back. if they dont run--better for you, lower price if you can figure out whats wrong with it., quickly if you know your way around scoots you might guess right and it be a $30 carb or carb cleaning or wrong and the compression is gone and need a head or such or maybe just rings either way you save $ thats how u get a bigger scoot cheap

Yes I know my way small engines pretty well if I may say so myself and yes I will must likely buying used and fixxin it up but with 1 van, 1 truck, 2 mopeds, 2 go carts (Built them both) and 2 mini bikes (Built one of them) I'm kind of sick of wrenching on things all the time and for once would like to buy something new lol. Working on rebuilding a old baja mini bike right now. My old lady thinks I have to many toys but half of them I have for the kids, I just happen to play with them sometimes lol To be fare I do like wrenchin on them most the time Mike

i was trying to point out that the best way to save $ and maybe get a good scoot
but you run into tons of junk for 1000's waste a lot of time and gas running to look at 'em but MAYBE you will find that 'diamond in the rough' that some body doesnt have time for anymore
i flipped a 150 last year started at $700 didnt run, looked like crap, got him down to 350 new carb, a good washing, some wax, some buffing spit & polish sold it for 1000 it did run good when i sold it
