Hey guys anyone notice a high idle when slowing down, i dont know if this normal or not. I have eton beamer 3 2008 i adjusted the idle screw and air mixture screw a 100X but still cant get the perfect idle. i want to get rid off my high idle to have a better mileage. I think my mileage is around 120kms in one full tank which is 1 1/2 gallon or 5liters. Its like 45-50mpg. I have a good acceleration 60kmh, no bogging or sputtering effect, just the idle when im slowing down, its like when you accelerate and then release the throttle the rpm will drop a bit but still high. The Rpm will drop normally when you do a full stop. Is this normal guys.

i have a manual thumb choke. Im kinda playing it on/ off ,when im slowing down trying to remove the high idle. and when i accelerate i fully open the choke so it will accelerate fast.

You are running TO LEAN richen it up. If you have a SLIDER type carb and the screw is closer to the AIR FILTER side that is a AIR RATIO screw, ( If so, turn it just a little like 1/16 or 1/8 clockwise to richen the mixture).
If you have a CVK carb then you have a Fuel Ratio screw which is close to the INTAKEE Manifold side, ( If so, turn it Counter Clockwise to richen the mixture). Wile

Now my air ratio is 3/4 turn, i just follow the recommended settings on this scooter. It says 3/4 turn to 1 1/4 on its manual, but i'll give it a try Wile, lets see what will happen, i also try the plug chop method and i'd stop until i get the nice brown color, so i know im running in the middle. if i do the 1/16 or 1/8 clockwise from the close position (snugged in) will it affect my acceleration at mid range and full throttle.

No No, What I meant is whereever the screw is currently set out RIGHT NOW richen it up a little, by just turning it 1/16 -1/8 at a time. The Slider types are very touchy and just a little adjustment makes a big difference.
And to answer your question YES the Free Flow is what is causeing the Problem to much air making it run LEAN that is why it needs just a little more fuel. Wile

Yo Wile. i tried to richen up by turning the screw clockwise first turn i did 1/8, it works and the idle went down a bit and then i tried 1/8 turn again a total of 1/4 turn and it works really good i can now feel the vibration which is i wanted to. I run it a couple miles and try slowing down it helps alot the Rpm is perfectly low, close enough to stall the engine but not lol. The acceleration is the same nothing changes. Just the Idle went down. I finally got it right. Thanks Wile
