Ok guys, yet again another question from me (swear I'll repay this forum tenfold ). So here is my problem, The guy I bought my scooter from bought 2 new lights for the scooter, thats headlights and bulbs. However he only hooked one of them up and i had no idea why until tonight. This morning I hooked the second bulb up as well so i had 2 (SunL Adventure 150cc) and when driving at night even with full throttle my scoot wasn't making enough power to match the brightness of a candle, not an exaggeration, when just 1 was plugged in it was decent, not great but decent. I think one of 2 things could have happened: 1. He bought bulbs that require too high wattage (no idea what this scooter requires nor how to check the current bulbs) 2. The new stator he installed is underpowered. I'm very much hoping its the former, but I thought I'd refer to the experts! Looking forward to hearing from u guys!

Possibly a bad earth from the headlight assemblies could cause your problem too

So the bad ground would be the negative on the battery?

and the frame . You can free up some electricity by replacing your lights with LEDs except the headlight

bad earth? how would i fix that? Make sure the -ve on the battery is connected with a nice thick shiny wire to both the frame, and the engine. This forms the common -ve rail for all the electrics on the scooter. As noted this common -ve is sometimes referred to as earth or ground, and generally has black covered wires, in contrast to the coloured +ve wires.

I had the same exact problem. It turned out to be that I put in light bulbs that were too high of a wattage (60 watts each) for the stator to handle (?) so while they were too dim, and I couldn't see them on the road, they were also so strong that it was making it so the battery wasn't getting charged, so it seems, because my battery was dying just about every day since I put the bulbs in. What I did to fix it was buying two 35 watt bulbs. As far as I know, the standard bulbs for two light scooters are 18 watts.
But just a tip. I'm not sure that these bulbs are ready for the scooter either, because my battery died this morning. You just might want to get 2 18 watt bulbs, or maybe I'm giving you bad advice and there isn't a problem with 2 35 watt bulbs, all I know is my battery was dead this morning and it's had issues with dying because of the 60 watt bulbs. Hope this helps

Both of those answers help immensely thank you very much! On a side note my scoots having a lot of trouble starting and its about 30 degrees at night and 50 during the day. Does that mean I have to reset the fuel/air mixture screw on the carb to adjust to the cold weather? I figure its the carb because when it gets warmed up and i turn it off, it starts immediately back up, but if i let it cool down its hard to start again. I also adjusted the valve gap already to .004 intake .005 exhaust. checked the spark, made sure the carb was getting fuel as well.

Color of ground wires! Generally speaking, on these chinese scoots the ground wires are Green, not black.

I really encourage you to find and learn to use a cheap VOM. Harbor Freight sometimes has them free. Magic tool when it comes to makeing sense out of electricity

old old old people say 'bad earth' us normally old people say 'bad ground' nahhh... theyre just drawn that way. battery ground is black on all the scoots ive seen. internal wiring is usually green with a few black. my buddy had a similar problem with over-powered lights. they ended up dimmer than the originals. he went back to the 28w iirc. one of my scoots starts instantly when cold but takes some throttle to start it when warmed up. one of these days im gonna end up driving through a brick wall doing that. lol!
