Yes, your 150 is doing great at 54-57mph top end. Only way to get more and CRUISE at 55 and NOT AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE have some left over is Taller Gears. And you do not want to be riding at WOT all the time. Also watch your RPMS you want to be at 7500 rpms or close to it at WOT, that is where the motor makes its MAX HP, Cruiseing you want to be 7000 or in the 6000 rpm range. And with the Taller Gears it will work like that for you. Lefty

My target is 60mph, so I'm almost there. I realize it's only a 150 & I'm getting to it's upper edge. I really want to have a little buffer zone when running on the main road here. The speed limit is 55. I'm in Tampa, FL, so if I can run down Dale Mabry safely, I'm happy. I have a Yamaha FZ1 for real running. It's just a toy for me to tinker with. Mostly, I want it to run as well as I can get it, within reason. Sprocket: Thanks for the heads-up on bracing the carb. Thanks to every one else for all the suggestions. I'll grab a few jets. 112,115,120. I wish I knew what I did with the original jet. I upgraded to a NCY fork, put on a wave rotor & NCY pads. The pads screeched like mad, so I went back to a new set of stock pads. I expect to replace the rear shocks eventually. So, I am aware of the limitations of the scoot. I also realize there's not too much that can be done about it.

I assume there's no easy way to check gearing without draining fluid & pulling the clutch assembly, etc...

You need to open the gear train... and to replace gears you will likely need access to pullers and a press.

I have a 250 Honda Reflex that will go over 80mph....But....As light as it is and with the scooter wheels on her you have to be very careful. The small tires is the thing I thing. When going over 65mph I think of a tire blowing out, and I got the best on her

A decent Car or Truck Garage should have a press and if they do it will only take a few minutes. Some just wack it off and wack the gear back on, you can google and you will find where they show how they wack it off and wack it on. Lefty

You really should run a good set of balanced tires, if you're gonna ride 60+mph. Michelin Pilots carry a "s" rating, good for 112mph. It's kinda overkill, but I've seen one by Pirelli carry an "h" rating, to 130mph.

Actually, I have a set of Pirellis (SL 26's) arriving tomorrow, Speed Rating of "L" (75 mph) never gonna see 75. lol

Your a brave man~!! I use mine as my beer, cig and grocery run bike. Now I have commuted on it several times, 40 miles roundtrip, but not at those speeds constant. I have this thought that runs through my mind of zipping along at 50+ and pieces of my scoot shaking off as I go along..hahaha
