Hey all, Well I recently browsing my nearby craigslist and I came across this scoot this morning for what looked like a very nice price. Basically its a fixer up Honda Elite, not sure on displacement most likely 80cc I assume for only $50. Its a pinkish color, but hell for $50 and if it doesn't require much work it looks like it could be a steal, and I can easily repaint it. So do those who know much about scooters think this would be worth the $50? Like maybe parts alone can cash in more than what this individual wants? Here is an image of what I am talking about

Okay will do, I'll give the person a call in an hour or so and actually check the bike out itself and do what you stated.

Parts for Hondas can be very expensive...... If it needs a lot of major things...may not be that good of a deal....

If it needs a lot of major things...may not be that good of a deal.... original parts yes but replacement parts are not that expensive. we got a honda spree that was not running here and found parts for it on ebay and other stores, they were not as cheap as gy6 engine parts but not expensive either in the event its too expensive to fix you can sell all the parts on ebay. the body panels alone should go for more than $50.00

That's an Elite 50. Basically the successor to the Spree. Some of them can be made to go seriously fast. They tend to be covered in the Spree Forum: www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/

It could be a steal as in stolen. I never buy a scooter that doesn't have a title in the sellers name. No title could be a huge headache if you want to be legal.

As a 50cc a title MAY not be available since it may never have been registered. At least in VA, registration is not necessary for anything smaller than 50cc so titles are rare to come by for a 50cc here. DEFINITELY take the VIN to the local police and have it run though. $50.00 may be a great price but not if you're dealing in stolen goods. Also check if the keys are the original factory Honda keys (if not maybe the lock cylinder was replaced indicating a theft bike), check for wear on the keys (again a honda key that looks brand new might have been a replacement to hide a previously stolen bike). But for $50 I wouldn't imagine they'd spend the $40 for a new lockset just for a $50 sale

Here is an image of what I am talking about If I am not mistaken, I believe that is a 1987 Honda Elite SE50. Same as mine, same body lines and body parts, even the same turn signals, and that is a 50cc bike. I would HURT someone to have a second in my possession. As far as parts OHHHHH YEEAAAHHH There are some on there that I would GLADLY buy from you RIGHT NOW!!! PM me if you do buy it and part it out, I want some body panels and signals like pronto
