OK People, Heres The Deal!!!! As Of Right Now, I Am Terrified Of Buying A Cheap Out Of The Box China Scoot!!! I Am Not A Scooter Mechanic, And Nor Am I Wanting To Pay Several Grand For A Bike That Will "FORCE" Me To Learn... That Totally Defeats The Whole Purpose Of Buying A "BRAND NEW ONE"!!!! SO, After Doing My Home Work, I Have Found It To Be A Whole Lot Less Headache, Trying To Chase Down BOTH Parts, And Getting People To Return My Phone Calls And Emails For These Cheap China Made Bikes!!!!! So, I Am Saving Up The Extra Money, So That I Am Able To Just Walk Into The (rip me off) Dealership (also know as the Stealer-Ship) And Buy A Bike That Has Major Big Retail Stores In Almost All Regular Mid Size Towns All Over America... That Way, I Can Come Face To Face With Real People When I Have A Problem With The Bike, Instead Of Talking To Other Peoples Answering Machines In Other States I Don't Live In, And Hoping To God That They Feel Like Returning Emails Messages As Well...The Longer You Fight With This Problem, The Longer Your Scoot Is Not Being Used, And Is Now Collecting Dust IN The Driveway Looking Like A Fancy Lawn Ornament ....BOTTOM LINE...IS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR,... ESPECIALLY INTO DAYS HARD ECONOMIC TIMES..!!! DON'T BUY SOMETHING CHEAP, AND THEN COMPLAIN WHEN IT BREAKS DOWN!!!...... Now To Bring This Form Up To Speed... What, and Which Bike/Scoot Is Better In "YOUR OPINION" ? The 400 Yamaha Majesty...or the 400 Suzuki Burgman? ? I Really Do Like Both These Scoots Alot, And I Would Really Like To Hear From The People Who Own/Or Have Owned These Nice Bikes..... I Will Be Taking Notes From What You Will Be Leaving On Here, About These Two Scoots, So PLEASE Don't Be Just ONE SIDED, And Make Sure To Leave Your Thoughts And Experiences On BOTH The GOOD Quality's As Well As The BAD Quality's As Well!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THEM, SO DON'T HOLD BACK GUYS!!!!!! As Always, Thanks Again!!!!! P/S..... You Can Read All The Consumer Reports That You Want To.!!! But If You Really Want The REAL DEAL, Than Go An Ask The People Who Own And Ride Them EveryDay For The Last Several Years!!!!!!

The Burgman is a newer design with electronic trip meter and is the more popular one. It is also available with anti-lock brakes.
The Majesty has a 26,000 mile valve check and is more sportier than the Burgman.
The under-seat trunk of the Burgman is huge. The Majesty also has quite a large one but it is divided into 2 compartments. Both accommodate 2 full face helmets.
The final determining factor would be the dealer. Which one do you prefer.

Thanks For Writing Me And Providing Me With Your Info On The Two Bikes!!!! I Will Take Note Of What You Said About How The Burgman Can Hold Two Full Sizes Helmets, While The Majesty Has Two Separate Storage Compartments.... ( I would rather have one big one than two mid sizes one).... And Yes, The Burgman Seems Two Be The More Popular One Of The Two!!!! Anything Else You Can Tell Me About The Burgman? ? As Always Thanks Again!!!

All reviews I have read claims they are equals at almost every task.
The Burgman has a lower seat height and leg cut outs to reach the ground easier. The Burgman has a narrower windshield that many owners change right away.
After that there really is no difference other than cosmetic and feel. Only way to decide is go sit on them and look at them. Both great machines.

It is a Ford - GM kind of choice. Both are good, both are competitive in price and performance. As for me, I tolerate the breakdowns of my chinese scooter and the challenge of fixing it. My wallet is thin. Parts are relatively inexpensive, my time is my own, I have a place, tools, and background experience to fix it. I also have a nice wife who will hitch up the trailer and come get me when it does break down.

Each of my friends with a Burgman have had transmission problems. One of the problems were fixed under warranty and the 3rd scooter broke down on a long distance group ride. Dealer was real nice though.
I was going to get a Majesty but opted for the AA 500 because of miles, looks, dealer/parts support, and not many scooters like this still around.
All scooters need fixing one way or another and I don't think you will go wrong with either choice.

David - I have owned both the Majesty and the Burgman 400. I enjoyed both of them. I sold the Majesty thinking I would like the Burgman 650 better. I did not. The 650 was great on the road but in town it was too heavy for me. I traded it for the Burgman 400 and would still have it except I had a slight stroke and was not inclined to get on a two wheeler. The main problem I had with the Majesty - I wanted to put a Utopia back rest on it and they could not figure out a way to do that. The back rest on the Burgman 400 was a real asset.
If you can try to ride each of them and see which one you like the best. They are both good quality scoots and you will enjoy either of them.

I ride a Burgman 400 and have a 250cc Chinese scoot(over 7,000 miles on it so far). Will have to say the parts for the China scoot are MUCH cheaper than parts for the Burgman. But, if you want the ability to walk into a dealership and say "Fix it", I'd recommend the Burgman 400. Who knows, maybe the dealership will sell you an extended warranty that may serve you well. Mine has.
