Use JBWeld (not Quick JBWeld), but surface has to be clean, drain oil, if needed.

I agree with the JB weld. Get the type that has two tubes that you mix together to make like an epoxy. Clean the parts really really good before using JB! Like engine degreaser, then soap&water, then brake cleaner. JB weld is really strong if you use it right.

I got the JB weld, now I just have to worry about the oil leak. I took off my cover again....and it seems all the oil was pooling towards where the gear gasket is....and it looks like engine oil to me. I cleaned it up as best as I could took out the clutch and the variator and started it up...but nothing. I am going to do an oil change and and clean it out a little better and see if I can see where the oil is coming from

That is likely not an engine case crack.. that is a main crank bearing seal...it is behind the gear and you will need a seal and a puller to get the gear off... ON this side of the engine it can be changed from the outside

Is that one of those rubber seals? I guess when the belt got tangled around there it messed up the seal. So i oull that gear out and I should be able to replace it?

Oh, I didnt realize that was a link.
I just tried to rent one of those pullers from autozone, but that didnt work very well. I guess i might have to buy that one for $30. Well...I guess it could be worse atleast I dont have to split the case.

You did see what I used for the job..... The first time I attempted to pull that gear it was a real bear of a job.....I doubt anything less that that big puller would have done it. The second time I did the job on a different engine.....the gear practically fell off. Don't waste money on cheap tools that may not work.

That separator won't fit behind the gear......HF sells another set that also contains a small separator like my picture. It's a tight fit back there....

I bought my separator off Ebay......there's a link in that thread I posted above. I already had a big puller set, but I ended up buying another harbor freight set....also in that thread.
I think that small separator in the link you posted should work....I saw it at HF after I had already bought the Ebay one. It was almost the same size as the one I bought.

Bluefront: idk how you fit that in there. I bought the kit from HF and the smaller puller is 2", but its not goin in

All the kick-starter stuff had to be removed. After that, it was a matter of turning the separator various directions till it slipped behind the gear. I can't describe exactly the correct procedure, but essentially that was it. My Ebay separator looked almost exactly like the H/F version.... Wish I could help more......

Well I was able to get the right side in, but the left side will not go in. I removed the entire kick start assembly and I tried for about an hour in every direction...the problem is where it the crank case curves...there is a little bevel that is preventing the left side of the puller to sit flush.

Grind off the back of the puller until you can get it to fit...

I think its the shape of the puller. I noticed the one from HF curves out a lot more. I ordered the one you have off eBay...so all I can do now is wait and hope this one fits or ill be doing some serious grinding.

I used that same EBay separator on a standard GY6 engine sitting on the floor in my garage, and also on my Xingyue engine (a GY6B), with the engine still in the frame. So I assume the separator should fit most/all 150cc engines without grinding on the engine. Grinding on the tool is another story....that might have done the trick. Admittedly....you have little clearance to work with during this whole operation. Too bad the gear wasn't just keyed, instead of being held on with a taper.
