So I have a guy trying to sell me a 2009 Lance GSR 150. He said he'd let me get it for 600 bucks. This sounds like a steal to me! He said it'll run but not idle very well (a year ago), this was the same problem with my 50cc now and a new $40 carb fixed it IMMEDIATLY! He's the original owner and it has been collecting dust in his garage for the past year because he's "scared to ride it on busy roads". It has 300 original miles... he says it hasn't been started in about a year and he tried starting it yesterday but the battery had died (obviously). He put the battery on a charger last night and said he would attempt to start it when he got off work tonight. I told him I was skeptical about buying something that I can't hear run, even if its a rough run and he understood. I'm thinking I should jump on this! Honestly what MAJOR problem could've happened in 300 original miles? This thing sells for 1500+ online and I've seen pictures of it, it looks like it came off the showroom floor!
I'm thinkin' even if I don't hear it run, a carb clean (or new carb), a new petcock and some starter fluid will fire this thing up. I know I shouldn't take his word for it but if I go and do a compression test and check the spark and its all good, I think I should buy it!
Should I go grab it while I have the money in hand?! Let me know what y'all think!

I would go buy a battery and take it will you, and make sure the motor cranks over, make sure its not frozen. You would be suprized what can happen in 300miles. Take a battery and try to crank it, if its free and cranks, sounds like a deal.
You be surprized what people leave out of not telling you on a sale, you dont want any major surprizes.

Yea that's what I'm sayin... he said it'll turn over. I think I'm going to bring the compression tester and make sure it has compression and then do a spark test with the spark plug out. If it has that then it's obviously something to do with the carb...

Wouldn't a kick start tell me if the motor is frozen as well?
