You can order a generic intake boot and make it work pretty easily, Just make sure it the right inner diameter. When I swapped my carb it came with one that was the same size as the OEM one. Just a regular dirt bike intake boot.
Try capping that nipple. Could be vacuum. If the bike runs better leave it. If not run a hose going the the bottom of the bike. Might be a vent.

There is also a Riva 180 manual posted on the Riva Riders Yahoo Group, along with a ton of other Riva stuff.

The manual if for the xc180, but I used it for my xc200 as 90% of the machines are the same except for the carb and the front fork. There may be a few other small things, but I searched for literally weeks for the xc200 manual, and the 180 was the only one I could find for free...I'm cheap..

I'm happy to say my Riva 180 is starting and idling perfectly. The carb was filthy. The previous owner either lied to me or got ripped off. Im pretty sure he got ripped off. It's pretty quick for a 180. Easily out accelerates my up-jetted elite 250. Doesn't quite have the same top end though.
I think the drive belt squeals slightly during acceleration from a standing start. A new OEM belt is $170. Is there any good quality aftermarket belts available for this scoot?
Also, the intake leak and lean backfire went away completely once the carb was cleaned and reinstalled.
