I purchased a wrecked 250cc scooter with a Honda Helix style engine. This may sound strange but I cannot find the correct amount of oil to use for this engine. You would think this would be an easy thing to locate. I have found at least 3 different figures depending on where I search. I seem to think the correct amount is about 2 quarts. I know that putting too much oil in the motor is as bad as too little.
Thanks for your help!

It's about one quart.

Even 1 quart is too much on that engine. The Linhai models take 1qt, the Honda clone models take about .75 quarts.
Slowly fill it and check the levels regularly as you do. You'll find it takes about 3/4 quart or so.

0.85 US qrt (0.8liters) as per the manual hope this helps.

That figure makes sense. I suppose I'm not getting all the oil out completely when I do my oil change, hence why I'm seeing about .75

Yes when you drain the oil there is always some oil left in there not much but some. Some crank the engine over a couple times and more oil squirts out but it is not necessary to do that. Lefty
