I like the BMS Evo V9 and the ZNEN F4. Both are 150cc with very similar specs. Hear that both manufacturers use better quality parts than the $500 - $650 dollar range.
With that said, why does the Evo V9 (and all 150cc BMS scooters) cost more than the ZNEN scooters? Is there a quality difference between them? I heard the ZNEN scooters are reliable, so what makes them cheaper than the BMS scooters?
Sorry for confusing General Discussion and General Scooter Forum.
You are right the same company manufactures both scoots and brands them differently. Just Googled it after you said it. The only features I see different are an alarm and blue tooth on the Evo. Can put an alarm on myself and it won't cost 200 bucks. Thanks friend.
Many of these scoots are almost the same vehicle.....with only the name/badge being different on the surface. But there are differences that may not be so obvious. My own Xingyue 150 and a BMS Pathfinder 150 look identical. But underneath the skin....the 2008 BMS has a more powerful stator than my Xingyue. It has a kill switch on the side stand, which my Xingyue does not. The BMS came with an alarm system. I'm sure there are other differences I haven't found.
Also....due to differing ways of distribution, there may be another hand in the pot (so to speak), before a BMS scoot reaches the final selling dealer.
The name may also play a part.....like a Cadillac costs more than a Chevy, while underneath they may be virtually identical.
These are Chinese scooters......the whole truth is apparently hidden from us round-eyes.
I have a bms 200 pathfinder. I would write here more but em in the last stage of completing my emergency money return thru bank from scooter depot ( Chino Cal. BBB Rating F )who tried to take it without sending a bike. I bought a BMS because they dump dealers for bad after care SVC. and they custom order better parts to go on their "VERSION" of the bike, if nothing else in the world, I got very good fuel/vacuum lines from the factory, which I went out and bought new of, and then took back. I have tested their warranty on a bent speed o line and you must (send) supplie part and they replace, My seller-superiorpowersports orders the part the day you call them and plus they took $100 off price so I could buy a helmet.
last reason for purchase bms , (besides subaru/mazda/honda trust them to first market their parts) the Taiwan [Jing Bing] Carburetor what ever in gods name that is--BUT never trust any sales transaction to the sellers -----stay alert and frosty thru whole deal.
So BMS dumps shady dealers and that is the reason scooterdepot does not have them? Thanks guys. Learning something new here every day. Have to purchase online as the 2 dealers in town are notorious rip-off artist. superiorpowersports looks like the way to go as they have the best reviews.
The BMS Pathfinder is nice. Think I will be purchasing the Romans or the Evo V9. The Romans is smaller (better for storing indoors). But the rear brake on the Romans is a drum brake. The Evo V9 has two disc brakes. It cost a little more than the BMS Romans though. At superiorpowersports I can still order a black BMS Romans. For the Evo V9 they only have blue or red. That is all any dealer has for the V9 I think.

My 50cc variation of the Romans style has been a very good "grocery getter". The 139QMB valves can be adjusted through the oval access port, but the larger 150cc may not have sufficient clearance. The under-seat tub does NOT just lift out . . requires removing the rear carrier rack and side fenders. The seat will not close over a 3/4 helmet. Sure would miss a flat floorboard, but it all depends on your personal criteria.
Sweet man. Good to hear input from an owner. That is a lot of storage for such a small scooter. The BMS Evo V9 looks like Flyscooters Il Bello but nicer (more chrome). The BMS Romans looks like it competes with the Flyscooters Il Bello.

Actually, i think the Heritage looks more like the Il Bello. The Evo looks more modern.
Yep, the BMS Heritage and the Flyscooters Il Bello are basically the same scoot, as is the Eaglecraft Verano and the Lance Vintage. All the same basic scoot. BASICALLY.
Plus the Tank/Kayman Classic and Roketa MC-16.
This has been the main pothole I keep hitting in my research in finding a decent chino scoot to buy: i love the vintage look and these scoots are all roughly in the same price range. it's hard for a guy like me to pick the best one out of the bunch.
Test rode a Kayman/Tank Urban Sporty 50cc for 3 minutes, that's all it took to get hooked!
Waiting for SSI approval, then I can buy one and RIDE!!!

Well to be honest with you, I think the LaVie/Cabretta/Milan style has the best of both worlds. You get the cool, sporty-looking front end, the bigger tires (they have 12" tires, I believe), but the back half and seat of the scoot has that nice retro Italian look! It also has ABS brakes, which are not available on the Il Bello/Heritage/Vintage/Verano bikes.
I've been eye-balling a nice Eaglecraft Cabretta at my local scoot shop for awhile now. I'd like that to be my next scoot.

I just bought the pathfinder 200cc from superior, and I think it runs well and feels like a solid little bike out of the gate. Of course I've only had it a few days, but I have seen MUCH cheaper feeling, looking and sounding chinese scoots.
I would also suggest superior. They have been great so far.
from my experience. not all Znens are the same - the Flyscooters version is a better product than Lance's - on par with BMS. Znen works with the distributor to find a quality/price point balance. Flyscooters asked for better engine castings, thicker gaskets, better stator, etc...and got it. Ithink BMS went this route as well. Lance just gave up and discontinued the Znen bikes in 2009 - could'nt get the quality they wanted.
2008 SYM HD 200 14,000 mi.,(son's) ,2010 SYM Symba (wifes), 2010 SYM Citicom300i - 5000 miles of fun for me! Just got a new Wolf 150...yeehaww!

marklorenzi: I just bought one of the Fleetwoods. They look like a clone of the Honda XRM's they sell overseas. It is in transit now and I should get it this week. I will try to post my experience here. Call me the guinea pig hahaha.
