it's been around 3/4" but hasn't snowed for the last two days but temps were -11 in the morning yesterday and around -3 all day. thats how it feels actually, only once its stuck, whenever I attempt to brake the throttle free it literally feels like i'm making a slush puppy with the throttle... I haven't actually taken the filter off as soon as it happens but ill try next time.. so ice is travelling through the throttle cable directly into the throttle slide where the carb is? I would of thought it would melt once i've had it running for 10-15 mins The ice is atmospheric moisture, freezing inside the cold carb. It doesn't help if your filter can suck up rain water as well. This explains it better than me: ''It's actually caused by the air rushing through the carb; an effect within all carbs called 'the venturi effect' means that air falls and is accelerated down through the carbs. This high speed low pressure air causes the temperature of the air to drop rapidly, freezing water in the air and causing ice crystals to form around the fuel/air mixing bits within the carb. It can happen in the middle of summer theoretically, but in practice it manifests itself on wet cold days (The UK)...for obvious reasons. No, that's what I've been using. It's basically alcohol with additives to stop you drinking it.

If so, check the belt behind the variator. It drives the oil and water pump.

ye both identical wiring, just baffled really as I ordered the exact same choke for my carb from dellorto..
just went out for a ride, throttles fine now, hasn't stuck once.
I came off my scoot on monday and hadn't rode it since just now, whilst I was out on it, it felt like my back wheel was wobbling... dont know whether the feeling was completely in my head or if I broke something when I had the fall, or maybe its the moist road? its like crazy wobbling if I go above like 25mph it literally feels like my back wheel is going to wobble off in a frenzy I can feel it more when i'm trying to steer ever so slightly.
any ideas? when i did fall it wasn't really a bad fall, meerly a slip but the bike did drop hopefully i havent damaged anything that could maybe cause this little feeling?
edit: just read up on my issue, possible cause could be worn/squared off tires?

I would have thought that if there was a problem with the tyres it would be gradual, not sudden. Get it up on the centre stand and spin the wheel by hand. Check to see if it is out of true or has excessive side to side movement (as if the axle were bent, or bearings damaged).

As a second thought, is there a slight coating of brown slush on the road? That'll make the back end squirrelly.

I've finally got some accurate port timings:
Exhaust: 194.96 Transfer: 133.29
My pipe is good for 11500-12500, so I'm aiming for the middle ground of 12K. The transfers are precisely that already, good as I don't have a chance of accurately porting them. The exhaust port is another story, currently at a measly 10K. I've calculated that for 12K I need a exhaust port 21.21mm from BDC, it's currently 19.7994mm, so 1.41mm is required.

68cc polini kit over a 70 malossi? The Malossi kit is slightly higher revving, both are equally well made. They are both also 47mm, so 68cc.

hows your bike getting along? i swapped my dirty malossi e13 for a pmtuning filter and i'm bogging real bad but the weather is crap so i dont want to stand in the rain and change jets . you ever changed a malossi for a pmtuning filter? any ideas on the jetting difference? higher or lower? only difference in filters is pmtuning has a stiff spring inside it.

Coincidentally, I swapped my PM filter for a Malossi one only a few days back, and had to drop 5 off my main jet as it made it too rich. I'd opt for the same in reverse, so try a 115 in there.

I decided to repaint my exhaust (again), a combination of lots of rain and salt did for it badly. I've opted for a rather nice looking metallic black.
Pics will follow in the morning.
