I am having trouble finding the right exhaust gasket for my 250cc scooter. Can anyone direct me on what to use or where I can find these gaskets. My engine has an exhaust pipe nipple mounted to the engine. The muffler has a pipe with a seat made on the end with splits in 4 places using a clamp around the whole thing. The dimensions are roughly 30mm x 35mm x 5mm. The material seems to be graphite, aluminum or maybe both. I searched all over and I have found several gaskets that may work but none exactly like what was in the scooter. I have two 250cc engines and both are made the same way. Surely there is a way to purchase the gasket or gasket material easily. Below is a photo of the exhaust pipe nipple on the engine: Below is a photo of the end of the muffler and exhaust pipe seat. I have flared out the 4 segments of the end to aid in viewing the seat and to make the fit easier. I would appreciate any information on locating this gasket. I have searched several suppliers and eBay with a variety of results.

If you cannot find the gasket, I would use RED ATV SILICONE GASKET MAKER. Make a nice bead of it all around where your arrow is. Let it dry and it will dry into a rubber gasket. Or you can put the muffler on then squeeze the Silicone inside all around the pipe right after the 4 slits on the muffler outlet and then clamp it down. Alleyoop

Go to your Honda Shop and ask for a an exhaust gasket for a 92 Honda Helix. They will probably have to order it but it should only cost about 10 bucks. Should get it within a few days. Order 2 because you supposed to put a new one on everytime you take the muffler off. Do Not Use silicone. or exhaust tape or anything. It will fail. Just check the Helix forum, We've tried everything and only 2 things work: the right gasket or making a gasket out of copper tubing but you need a lathe for that.

It is so unusual that this gasket does not show up in eBay. At least I have not found it so far. Everyone is so helpful here. Thanks again! Gloworm5
