scootinoldskool.wordpress.com/2010/03/20/la-vita-150-let-the-gnashing-and-rending-begin/I ride a Stella with a P200 engine in it and a Royal Enfield Bullet. I guess I'm doing my part to support the Indian economy. So I guess I'm a pretty conservative, old school rider. The Hammerhead LaVita scooter has captured my attention, The link above give good information on the LaVita and has pics. The scoot is styled after the famous Vespa VBB. To my eyes it's beautiful and has all the modern technology. My problem is I know nothing about Hammerhead scooters. Can any of you share what you know about this bunch?

Here is a long thread from another forum about the bike and includes input from the developers of the bike. www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=520061It is a Chinese bike, and if you do enough digging you will find out it is made by Jialing. I have owned a bike made by Jialing and found the quality to be OK. Jialing does have a good reputation for dirtbike engines being widely considered #2 in that field behind Lifan. Aside from the prejudice against Chinese bikes the only bad thing that I have heard about it is that it is light, and it is small. Small as in a tall person riding it would look like ". . . a bear riding a tricycle." (This is from the woman who uses a scooter with dots on it, like a ladybug, as her avatar.)

Good thread, very informative. It turned into a whining, nasty girl fight on about page 5. But some very good info from a Hammerhead person. Looks like its gonna be a nice scooter.

Here is a thread on another forum about the La Vita. If you notice it also breaks into a "nasty girl fight." Especially after I point out the unsupported name calling. Then it got directed at me, but, I got a good lick in. Oh, here is the link. forums.stellaspeed.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=15554

I bought one for the showroom floor, but ended up riding it! - it is a fun machine. Yea, it's made in China, unlike Hammerhead's other Adly Taiwan bikes, but the quality seems to be pretty solid. The ride is comfortable for my 6', the handling was a bit squirrelly - I'm used to the SYM 16" wheels, but the 10" tires on this are beefy - much better than the usual 10x3.5. The accelleration is great! the EFI really adds a kick. I smoothly and easily got it up to 60mph. Very nimble and zippy ride. Although I'm not a fan of the leading link front suspension, this one works well, a lot smoother than I expected. The rear swing arm is solid, not cheap sheet metal. The digital dash us ugly, blue lit, but readable - just doesn't go with the style. The handle bar switches are different - had to get used to their layout, but there is a lot of stuff to play with - dash light switch, hazard switches, EFI sensor lights, etc... The body plastics are very thick - looks durable. There is absolutely no storage under the seat - helmet hooks at least would have been nice. It does come with a rear rack. There is a weird spare tire attachment thing that is downright ugly, and I can't see attaching a spare tire to it as my leg room would be gone... All in all a fun, fast, stylish, well built bike. - great on gas too, even with it's 12 hp

i do not like it. the body looks like tupperware. its actually soft looking to the eye. a far cry from the all metal scoots it is pretending to be. the wheels? they have to go. and what about that digital speedo?

Yes it's made in China. Say aren't the Piaggio Fly 150 and Yamaha Zuma 125 and Kymco Super 8 made there?

have owned a La Vita since September and with less than 300 miles on it, I really regret purchasing it. I was hoping for great things from this bike and company, but I have had a lot of friends say that they've bought most of the units they've sold back from the purchaser, and Hammerhead hasn't been very helpful in keeping a new market happy with customer service. I was torn between the La Vita 150 and a Stella four stroke, and after almost four months of a non properly functioning scooter, I wish I would have waited for the Stella to come to CA. www.scribd.com/full/44615915?access_key=key-4n9hho14mov79bowj76
