Have been having a real problem trying to find the correct voltage regulator for this 2008 2-stroke scoot. I found one that was identical in outward appearance and it promptly burned out my dash odometer and shorted out the system!! I guess it must be wired differently inside even though the 4-pin plug is identical etc.
Anyone know a dealer or on line house that can get me OEM parts for this scooter?
TIA Mike

There is no standard pinout. You have to make sure you get one for a 50 cc (half wave rectifier for grounded stator). After that, you have to test each pin to try and determine the correct pinout, then adjust your connector accordingly. See the following thread. scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=31652If you use a full wave rectifier (as is the diagram prior to last in linked thread) on a grounded stator design as are the 50cc scooters, it will cause a half wave dead short. If you do have the correct 50cc regulator, then being the wrong pinout probably simply left the yellow (headlight) lead unregulated, allowing up to 45 volts AC through your 12 lighting and gages. Good luck, hope you do figure it out.
