the forum has moved itistheride.boards.net/index.cgiHowdy! Just scored this chinese retro styled scooter for $100 on craigslist--only had 350miles on it. But it was in pieces and I put in another $150 in new parts (battery. mirrors, ignition keys, plug, fuel valve, bulbs). She's purring now and rides nicely but I can't get the electric start to work. When I hit the start button all it does is click. I'm assuming that's the solenoid working so I thought it was a bad starter. Got a new one but still not turning over. Any suggestions? Is it a bad solenoid? Attachments:

If it's a bad solenoid it's easy enough to test. Just use a heavy piece of wire or a pair of pliers to jump across the large terminal on the solenoid and it should crank. If it doesn't crank I'd make sure your battery is good or even try jumping from a NON-RUNNING car. If that still doesn't work try running the hot lead (positive) directly to the stud on the starter. If that's a no go then you have problems with either the starter or Bendix/clutch.

Sounds like your battery is not fully charged to me. My scooter has also made a clicking sound before and I believe a recharge helped my problems.
I am also from Houston! Good luck!
