Thanks, Big Guy, I was doing it all wrong too on my trike and on my Tank 150. Does the CF Moto 250 engine drain the same way?

Ah come on guys now a little oil on the old hands is good for ya!! LOL If ya own the linhai you need to get used to the idea as it only drains from the bottom oil screen plug!!
But I'm one step ahead of ya on the GY-6 since I have a oil cooler on mine I just turn a valve to drain mine! LOL JRR

Big Guy, I went to your link to "yourscooterspace". Is there a lot of people that frequent that site? I noticed that there were no members logged in or online. It looks like a great site. I just wondered if maybe everybody was out working or out riding. I live north of you guys about four hours. I might be interested in coming down for the event in March next year.

We're just getting started with that site, so there are usually only one or two people on at a time. As it grows, and it will because of all the cool features, it'll get really busy.
We would love to see you in March! People come from about 8 different states for the weekender. I'll have it posted and a banner on the top of all the pages here around January or so... just like last year.

Jrryan, March is pretty much the height of the crawfish season. No problems there. I think the cool thing about N.O. is the fact that it's mostly flat there. Maybe their route will incude a ride along the levy maybe around an underneath the greater N.O. metro bridge. If we are lucky, maybe it would start before sunset and end after dark! That would be cool. I would think a ride from Perryville to New Orleans on a 150cc would be quite a stretch. Maybe on a 1200 HD. I am probably gonna pick up a small trailer and haul my buns. For folks who don't know white perch fishing will just about surpass drinking down in the bayou state. The only thing that beats drinking, is white perch fishing and drinking. (And not neccessarily in that order). Jrryan, maybe we could join up in Alexandria and leapfrog down I-49.

Rich, thanks for the pix of the GY6 oil drain. I was doing it the wrong way and this gets me on the right track. I love New Orleans but have not been there in several years. My wife used to attend medical conferences there and I would tag along. We stayed in the quarter, great zoo, great aquarium, I loved the river front and the free ferry across the river. A truly unique and great city.

Well when you come back Wolf, be sure yo look me up before hand... I know some really great little hotels down in the Faubourg Marigny (the Bywater district on the edge of the Quarter) that you'll just love, along with some places the tourists never get to see!

Get them crawdads ready and easy on the cayenne pepper please!!! ;D And yep drinking and them white perch just can't be beat!! I have 4 of the nice telescoping ultralights that are easy to put right under the seat along with tackle and such so even on a scooter I'm always ready for them White Perch!! Yes that is on the upper end of Ouachita lake and from where I was at I was close to a little town called Mt Ida which is about 25 minutes west of Hot Springs! Lot's of lakes and water in SW Arkansas good fishing too!
I have relatives in that part of the state and when I ride my scooter to go see them I ride through this part of the Ozarks and see the beauty! JRR

Hey guys, I haven't posted an entry to the thread in a few days. But, something came up a day or so ago; and I just haven't thought to inquire about it. It is: what are the out comes of using a 10% ethanol blend in the 93 octane gas I'm using? Is there any adverse effects, what might they be?

Jack: Here in GA all our fuel grades have 10% ethanol added. I have used regular and 93 octane in all of mine with no ill effects that I can tell. Finally went to 87 octane regular and can tell no difference. JR: That top trunk appears to be the same as is on my IB150-8. Has a lot of room in it. And where did you get those awsome hard saddle bags. Neat hangers for them too.

Thanx wolfhound for replying. I have kind of ran in to the same thing here in Louisiana. Most places are now offering the 10% ethanol additive to any and all octane ratings. It's good to know that it will not affect our bikes; particulalrly, your having switched to 87 octane. My chicken#$% example of an owners manual suggest the higher octane rating. It's really interesting to see that you have not had problems running the 87. It's not been good riding weather here lately. Just cold and rainy.

Hey als01seville. Not yet. I did get confirmation that they have recieved it. The salesman asked for the history from the usps tracking site so he could follow up with his guy at the warehouse. He said he would work with the guy and send us a tracking number to track it back to us. He also said that they had gotten the MCO and would be fowarding that on to us. Lastly, he indicated that their webmaster for their website had posted our pictures on their website. I checked it earlier and dog gone there we are! I forwarded it on to the wife at her work e-mail. She was pretty stoked the her pretty face was out there in cyberspace. I have ordered an ENM tach/hour like Dwilds so I can see how the engine is doing. If I had one thing about the bike I would change that would be adding a tach. As well, when I went into the front fairing to put on the windshield, I managed to fubarb the front cover gaurd plate and the windshield gaurd plate. Their replacements are coming as well. Not much else here in Louisiana waiting on a nice day to ride. Oh BTW we got our first snow in Alexandria in many years on Friday last week. I am sure its because of global warming.....

Hey Wolf didn't see your request, here is where I bought them; shop.vendio.com/evan2002/category/6077/They have different styles and colors! They come with some small mounts but they were of no use to me and I built my own brackets and designed them myself out of stainless steel as I am a certified welder and fabricator! Now one dawg reported that he got the same bags off of Ebay as this company sells direct like I bought or on Ebay which I didn't know at the time and sometimes they put them up for bid and he got his for $2 plus the shipping. lucky dawg!!! There is a thread on the data base site under the paint and body section with how I did them illustrated! JRR

Thanks, guys. JR, beautiful welding work that you did on your brackets!!! Cruiser, they look great on your scoot. $70.00 is not a bad price when you consider that the MC croud pays a couple of hundred for their aluminum ones.

Yep I forgot it was 66 who got that real bargain!! Lucky Dawg!! And his does look great and for me I had plenty of scrap stainless and I'm one who always goes to over kill on a project!
I also hooked mine up to the tail lights and I also got two more of the little plug in wedge sockets and put stop lights on mine too! I also got a little set of amber LED's and put blinkers on also! Like I said over kill!! LOL
I'd keep watching Ebay who knows they may put some up on a low bid again unless that lucky old 66 taught them a lesson!! LOL JRR

Hey guys: great post about the saddle bags with lights!!! I likes it a lot. Here's a question from a new triker. Is is not unlikely to hear a slight knock in the backend when taking off from a dead stop? I kind of have the idea that it may be the clutch spinning up and engaging. If that's it, then there's nothing to worry about. Just getting familiar with the different sounds of the bike.

wolfhound Very good thread. Thanks for the referral. While mine is not a shudder, it is a small knock when getting off of a dead stop. I think it's just the clutch engaging; and there's really nothing to worry about. I was just wondering if others had noticed the same thing. About your quality issue raised in your thread. First, let me say I love my trike. It's just dang COOL! Now, here is my observation. The threads you read regarding the IB trike will lead you to conclude that there is a big time quality issue with these bikes. As you go back and look at Als and Jrryn and Dwilds' threads they are putting efforts into an increase in speed with a reduction in rpms. Obviously, a worthy endeavor. However, there are small things like the chain gaurd, the muffler screws, the axle issue sliding out, the gas tank float, my speedomter was defective and never worked. (btw, they are going to warranty the speedo...I should get it in a week or so). All these different issues call me to question why the Chinese want to ship these things to the US market like this? My paranoia makes me think they are sending the production line junk to the US and keeping their solid bikes for themselves. The only way we can change that is to not buy their crap while at the same time keep posting these issues we have with their bikes. Maybe they will take a little more pride in their products and fix these production quality issues before they ship them.

Aileronjack, The knock you hear when taking off is the slope in the Differential Spiders Gears. They are not made to precision standards so you have play between the gears. There are four Spider Gears one for each Axle and Two that are mounted on a 1/2 rode which rotate along with the Sprocket and they engae the Spider Gears on each axle to turn your wheels.
Its one of the oldest and simpliest Differential around, its called an Open Differential. Also when you make a turn the inside wheel turns less than the outside wheel. For being so simple it works great. Now Dwild62 had Shims built to tighten up the Spider Gears so that they would mesh better and take some of the Slope out. I don't know if he tried them or has them in but he was trying to take the Slope out. Alleyoop
