That tube is there simply to catch oil from the breather. Just empty it every so often. If you leave it undone it will make a mess! Glad it's going well for you!

I would talk to your dealer about warranty implications on routine maint. I would imagine that it would be fine as long as you document what you do and that you use recommended products. It's been my experience that dealers have quite a bit of discretion and they will vary. If you muck it up, you destroy the warranty.

ok Dawg, I'm convinced that you give an honest review after reading all the post on this scoot and others I've read that you have done and if I were looking for this style scooter I would run to my nearest dealer to get me one, but I have my hart set on something else and I hope you've run across one and can advise, buy the way my present ride is a TNG milano 150, 2005 with about 2100 km on it and I have been very happy with it so far, now my dream scoot is the one with the roof, like the tank courier, but I am not interested in a tank, wood like something more reliable, also needs to be a 250 at least, I have been searching the web looking but the only thing I can find seems to be tank knock offs, would rather have a step up or to. if you can help thanks and if not thanks anyways. Phil look at Diamo www.diamousa.com they have a convertible and they are closer or equal to TNG in quality and they are dealer sales only. A 250 was to be available but I havn't seen it yet. I've ridden the 150 Diamo convertible... it's kind of heavy and gets blown around a lot by trucks and crosswinds.. a 250 would be better no question. Diamo's are pricey MSRP-wise for this model. thanks Aaron, bit pricey, have any idea what drives up the price on there products so much more than all the rest, almost double, getting close to a 250 price from one of the big three and if there quality, service and warranty justifie it no problem, but if there just another scoot from china with a lot of hype added to the sales pitch that's a lot of extra cash for hype. by theway they do have the 250 @ $4395 plus dealer prep, and freight looking at 5 grand. think it's worth it ? The difference in price is because Diamo actually has a parts warehouse and dealer network and a warranty. They have suffered growing pains and not everybody is happy with them. I just don't like Tank...period. As Aaron said, the covered scooters get blown around a lot. I consider them to be more of a novelty than a practical ride. To each his own, though.

Phil no I'd get a Kymco 250 for that money hands down. The covered scooter is kinda cool but way over priced.

Dawg or ACD, Can you guys advise what type of gear oil the Qlink Pegasus takes?
The User guide says, "15W-40".. the service manual says, "90 weight". 15W-40 sounds like regular motor oil.
Appreciate any clarification.
Thx. TZ

TZ I've heard of success with both. To me gear oil makes more sense but I am an idiot. Motor oil would mean less drag but come on not that much. I don't have Qlink manual so I shall have to defer to Dawg for a definative answer.

I would use gear oil. Just don't tell them if you ever need warranty service. It really doesn't make any difference. The CFMoto service manual recommends 90 gear oil. That would translate to something like 80 W 90 Multi-Purpose gear oil here in the States. Something seems to get lost in the translation of oil numbers and octane numbers between Asia and here.

A 80w90 gear oil is basically the same weight oil as 15w40 motor oil. The different numbers are because the testing procedures and way they come up with the numbers are two totally different systems. I'd go with the gear oil and get the best you can get, synthetic if you can find it. Gear oil is formulated specially for the kind of wear and use the oil gets in gearboxes.

Dawg, over a year I was researching the Pegasus 150. I wrote to ask if there was any info in this bilke. You responded that you had not heardif it but that you would look into it. I feel that maby I helped to put you on the track toward this great bike. I called the factory last week because my dealer does not have all that I wanted. The tech I talked to said that the factory (QLink) has designed a windshield for the Pegasus 150 and has just contracted a company to build them and they are in stock. I am sure that there will be others interested in a windshield that fits the 150. I will have to have my dealer order it but it is available. Lin

I sure would like to see a pic of the shield. I'm going to check into this a little. I knew they were trying to get one available.

RE: Windshield for Qlink Pegasus 150 I picked one up this weekend from Motorcycles.pro. Ordered it a few days ago, it came in 2 days. Was just under $100 out the door including shipping, tax (8.XX%), etc. Installed it, here are my comments: 1. Installation is rather easy. 2. IMPORTANT to screw things down TIGHT. Otherwise it will vibrate a good amount during higher speed travel. Even when tight, it moves a 'bit'... but not unobjectionably so. 3. Position it carefully (vertically). If position is not optimal, when driving in reduced light (i.e. Dusk or night) the headlight strikes the bottom of the windshield and the light forms a refractive ring around the entire windshield. If worse came to worse, I'm sure a little black electrical tape could probably fix this.... but I'm fine after correct positioning. 4. Now performance: I have to say, I believe adding the windshied added approx 3-6mph to my cruising speed at a given throttle setting. Can not explain this, but probably due to better aerodynamics. In addition it handles the wind like a champ making a more enjoyable ride. 5. A side benefit is that it repositions the mirrors (a bit higher up). For a semi-tall guy like me (6'2", 200lbs), think this improved the mirror visibility. Your milege may vary. Here's a pic (in my garage, I'll take a better pic later): TZ.

It shouldn't move much if it's a good shield. It looks pretty tall and it's not very stylish.

Hi all, Well, I have had my Qlink Pegasus for since 5:00pm on Wed. evening and it is now 10:00a.m. on Sat. morning. I know that is not long for ownership but I love this thing. I already have 267km/166mi on it. I changed out the oil the first day but I am getting ready to change it again, mostly because we put sythetic oil in it and then we did a lot more reading from all you experienced scooterists. Anyway I have run this scooter wide open and hit 65 mph on the speedometer. I have not had a gps on this yet so I don't know how close or off it may be, but it felt fast. I have used this scooter for going to school, going out to eat, just joy riding and even the grocery store. Between the storage under the seat and the trunk, I got quite a few things home. I have nothing bad to say so far but I will keep you all posted. Thanks for all the good advice on this board. Deb

Rode a Qlink Pegasus at a dealership this pm. It had the windshield. Very comfortable over the bumps, ...better than my bigger Burger400. Expected acceleration to feel faster than my GY6-powered Roketa, but it didn't, ...maybe even a little slower off the line. Underseat storage is small, ...might hold a half-helmet, but that's it. Little plastic doors below handlebars seemed mickeymouse. Seat hinge was very floppy.
But again, the ride was very cushy. Also, with the tall windshield, little/no wind. Windshield was so high that anybody under 7' tall will have to look through the plexiglass, not just over it. Maybe just the way it was mounted.
I'd probably pay the extra $$$ to get the watercooled Kymco B&W-150 if I wanted that type of machine.

It's not the 16" wheels though so not really a comparison as far as the ride. Still want to hear more feedback about this shield. It looks pretty tall and shields that vibrate too much are nothing but trouble.

Well, I've got another overheating pagasus for the roster. My buddy bought his about 6 weeks ago (I bought the Tank Touring) and we've logged just over 1000km riding them back and forth to work so far. His gas gauge died the first week and clock display went out (Still waiting for a new instrument cluster) and it started overheating & blowing coolant above 50 MPH this week. His dealer doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to help him out. Is there a direct contact at QLink he can call? Any idea what causes the overheating issue?

Well, I've got another overheating pagasus for the roster. ........ and it started overheating & blowing coolant above 50 MPH this week. What year is the Scoot? ?? From what I have read that some of the earlier models had some overheating issues that can be solved under warranty at the dealer, and that the newer ones(not sure of the year cutoff)had it taken care of. I am just about sold on the scoot, just got to find a dealer around who actually has one in stock so I can see if it fits me, at 6'1", sometimes I look like a monkey f%^&ing a football on some of the smaller scooters!!! Keep us posted! Mike

I still haven't had overheating probs with the 'o6. I do believe those that have posted the problem though. This is totally off the record and only for those that aren't close to dealer support. Drill three or four 1" holes to allow more air to get to the radiator. Again, mine continues to run in a superb manner. Don't drill the holes if you want to keep your warantee intact.

Dawg,
I ordered a '07 Pegasus 150 w/ windshield and will be receiving it this week and I have a couple of questions for you.
What engine oil do you recommend (cycle or car, weight, reg/syn blend/full syn)?
What gear oil do you also recommend (same as above)?
Should I change out the radiator fluid as well and what do you recommend?
Also, if I remember my conversation with Hai from motocycles.pro correctly, he mentioned to me that there were some small changes in the '07 from the previous year, do you know what changes were made?
Hopefully you will be able to answer my questions. I would like to purchase the fluids before hand.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Everybody!
Well, I'm sold!!! I'm going to test drive one at a dealer thats close to my house today! I'm 6'1" and 215 Lbs. Hope I don't bottom out the poor scoot!!! One question: I've found a dealer that will sell me one for $2099 with Free Lift-Gate Delivery to my door (http://www.menintools.com/scooterqlinkpegasus.html)....He has a store in NJ.
The dealer I'm taking the test ride on wants $2399.00+7% tax. Should I buy from a "local" dealer who has already taken the time to "prep" the bike or should I do this myself??? Will I "void" the warranty by doing the setup myself? Any help on this would be much appreciated!!

Having a "Q" myself, I found it has been very nice to be close to the dealership. My few problems have been all very small so far but they have been taken care of and at no cost, all under warranty. I guess some of this would depend on how handy you are as a mechanic and so forth. I'm not sure about the warranty question though and that is a good question. In my humble opinion, if you can afford the extra $, I'd go with a dealership and let them do all the prep work and everything. This way, anything that might be off a little bit from the get go, you can go back to the dealership with. Also, in my cast the dealer handled all the title and plate stuff too which was very convienent. By the way, I don't think you will bottom out your scooter. My husband is 6'4" talll and weighs in at 220lbs and he has ridden mine with not problems. He would like a little more leg room but that is it. Have fun with your scooter and keep us posted.

I just spoke with a Qlink Rep and he said that If I were to order one on the internet and "assemble" as needed, the warranty "would not be voided"!!
Kmtsmom, thanks for the reply about the weight issue. Now all i need is more feedback concerning the "buy from local dealer vs. Internet company"!!! $300.00 bucks is a lot of gas money.... ;D
Thanks, Captain Harlock

For you Peg owners with windshields, how are they holding up? Some people have posted the tall shields will flex and crack. I need one for my scooter.Where can I get a good one? Captain, you will like your Pegasus.I've had mine for 3 weeks, and it seems to run better every day!
