Here's what worked on my Roketa 50.....I imagine most other Chinese scoots will have a similar setup. Changing all the hoses on these scoots is a pain. First-off, you'll need three different size hoses....I got mine at O'Rilley's Auto Parts. The 1/4" line and the 3/16" are normal gas hose....not injection hose. The 5/32" hose is called washer/vacuum hose.
You'll need to find appropriate sized band clamps.....I found these at a big hardware store for .35c each. They come separate in the section with a bunch of drawers for small parts. Be sure they are a snug fit on the hoses you bought.
While doing the hose install, I also put on a new fuel filter from Auto Zone (it has 1/4" connectors) and is very short so it fits better. And I installed a manual gas shut-off valve on the tank....from a lawn care store. It has 1/4" connectors also.
To do all this you'll need to remove the seat bucket.....and to do some of the lower lines on the carb, you'll have to loosen the carb and turn it sideways.
Now for the tricky part.....On my scoot the connector on the gas tank is 1/4"......but the connectors on the OEM vacuum valve is 3/16". So you'll need to use the 3/16" line to go from a 3/16" connector to a 1/4" connector. Difficult to say the least.....to get a 3/16" hose on a 1/4" connector.....heat the end of the hose in a pan of boiling water for at least a minute. Spray the inside of the hose with silicone. Work fast and the 3/16" hose will slip on the 1/4" connector, with difficulty, but it will go on there.
You'll have the same setup when you go from the OEM vacuum valve to the fuel filter.....and on the other side of the filter to the carb (which has a 3/16" connector). DO NOT.....try to clamp a 1/4" hose on a 3/16" connector....it will leak for sure.
In this last photo you can see the 1/4" line (yellow arrow)...it goes from the tank to the manual shut-off valve. This was the only 1/4" used in the entire install. On the other side of the valve you see a 3/16" line to the OEM vacuum valve (blue arrow).
I measured first and cut all the lines to the correct length before I installed any of them. I did the hot water trick-install on the 1/4" connectors while the shut-off valve and the gas filter were off the scoot. Makes it much easier.
The vacuum lines are much easier to install. I know this explanation is complicated....so if anyone is confused, I can answer questions.
Happy modding....
Let me add one thing.....put the band clamps on the lines before you install the hose. Just run the clamps toward the center of the hose. Make sure the open ends of the clamps are oriented properly so you can reach them easily when you're moving the clamps to their final position. You want to push the hose as far on the connector as possible. The clamps should be positioned on the very end of the hose, past the end of the barbs.
Before you put the seat back on, run the scoot for a while and check for leaks. Oh....once you put a 3/16" hose on a 1/4" connector, you'll have to cut it off, if it needs to be removed for any reason. It'll be too tight to remove by pulling on it.
