It is a 2008 keeway fact stock 50cc. It will do around 45mph and I weigh 215 lbs. I would like to increase the low to midrange end take off. Don't have any interest increasing the motor size or top end speed.I was wanting to get dr pulley sliders and maybe some springs. Should i get the sliders first and around what weight. I was hearing around 5g. Also on the springs someone told me the stock were around 1000rpm on those. Should i stick with those or go to around 1500 rpm? Also was wondering if I should get a cdi racing unrestricted. It does around 7500 to 8000 rpm top end. And if I get that would I want a racing coil and why? Thanks, I know alot of questions for a newbee!!

You can increase low-end take-off at the expense of top speed or you can add a big bore kit.
No free lunchs with 50cc scooters.

Dr.P sliders helped my scoot with the stock cylinder. You can also add a set of stiffer clutch springs but a torque spring isnt gonna do much with the stock cylinder. Maybe a 1,000 but you would likely loose some top end. You should weigh your existing rollers and replace them with about the same weight sliders. I used 4.5g in mine. If you can rev it real high on the center stand it dosnt have a restricted cdi. Like motomech pretty much said, no replacement for displacement  Thats the best bang for the buck |

Hello, I also have a Keeway scooter. Mine is a Hurricane 50cc 2-stroke. It came with a stock expansion chamber and the manual says it has 4.9 HP. Right now it will only go about 42 MPH and has excellent acceleration.
Does anyone know if these have a rev limiter?
Does anyone know if the stock expansion chamber is any good?
What weight Dr. Pulley sliders do you all think will work good on this scooter?
I am trying to get about 50 MPH max speed.

my suggestion is to add 1500# clutch springs and a 1500# contra spring....also, a quality kevlar belt will give you some additional speed. ....if that is not enough try a larger main jet with a performance air filter....don't forget about proper tire inflation and good fuel...an iridium plug should also be considered................let us know the results  |

Yesterday the Hurricane was bogging between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle. I thought it was probably a dirty air or fuel filter. I cleaned the air filter and replaced the fuel filter and looked at the oil pump cable to make sure it was adjusted properly. I found that the end of the cable sheath at the oil pump was not inside of the plastic cowling like it should have been. Long story short, the scooter was getting too much oil. Now it is adjusted properly and should run better and not smoke as much. Also, it will go around 50 MPH downhill now with everything stock. ;D

on the dr pulley weight's you have to go 2 grams lighter for it to be equivalent to what you have in it. Let say you have 7 gram factory weights you would use 5 gram dr pulley for it to be the same. Now you want to go faster on top end just add a 6 -7 gram dr pulley weight. Now you will sacrifice bottom end and you could use a higher rpm clutch spring to get that extra speed.

Hi, I have a similar problem with my F-act 50.
Mine has an oil drip from right where the oil cable goes into the cowling.
I’ve taken the cowling off and cleaned dirt out of what I think is the oil injector. The connection looks ok. I would worry, but I get slightly too much oil. The plug is really black when I pull it.
PS, I’ve been putting something like STP in every third fill-up.

i have the same scoot but is branded by XMC, i just put a 90cc engine in mine and have about 10 miles on it, great low end so far. I have not gotten on it past 1/2 throttle or really tuned it yet so it is rich but still runs strong.
Before i did the swap though i pulled the stock inlet tube from the air box and replaced it with a pice of hose with an ID of 3/4", then i replaced the plug with an iridium plug, tried 5g rollers, then went to 4g & 5g rollers (stock was 4g). stuck with the 4g+5g (3 each) set-up. allmost forgot, when i did the hose and plug it leaned it out just right, mine started a bit rich from stock too. the last thing was a new belt that was just a tad wider than stock. all of that helped manily on the low to mid range and gave me anther 1-2 mph on the top end.

big bore kit or sports exhaust wiil see the biggest gains standard 2 stroke exhausts are very restrictive
