Amen to that JRR, there are enough horror stories floating around the Internet about "Chinese Junk" scooters and such. Fortunately there are a few companies trying to do right and provide a decent scooter for a fair market price. I still can't believe that I only paid $1100.00 for my Carino. So far it's been really great with only one minor problem, the vacuum fuel pump. I'd buy from GSMotorworks again if I can talk the wifey into riding with me. Seems everytime I get a little cash ahead something comes along and takes it all, ah, such is life. As you said tstubbs and themathclub do seem to try and help folks with their scooter purchases, that's more than I can say for many of the Internet shippers.

...What other definition is there for failure but debacle? The website is still there making promises about a glorious 2010 even though it doesn't seem to be happening. So, why does this bother you? I don't get it! I think you need to learn the definition of a snake oil ad. The site clearly says they are reorganizing and pulling the site would bother people who already bought from them. You really shouldn't visit there if it bothers you so much! Now you're saying that if I buy a Honda from a local dealer and they screw me around, this makes Honda a bad company? Come on now... the problems USFM had were clearly resolved and in fact, Fly pulled their franchise! What more would you expect? I have never had a single problem that Fly hasn't resolved, and none of my friends who are dealers have told me of any they have had. After 15 months of carrying their scooters I have to say I am completely satisfied. On the other hand, my friend who is a Kawasaki / Honda / Yamaha dealer here in town is not as happy with them. Sorry, I honestly don't remember, but if your opinion hasn't changed, I guess I must have won that one -Rich

Oh yes, the phone is your friend, how about $180.00 in long distance calls in just one month and getting their answering machine because they have Caller ID and won't pick up. How about when they do pick up getting transfered to a SO CALLED manager and the answering machine actuall message is "You have reach BLAH BLAH Leave your phone number, time you called and reason and "I WILL GET BACK TO YOU AT MY CONVENIENCE" pretty bold don't you think.
I do not know who are all the bad or good dealers out there, but within the last two years I must have been unlucky and hit the worst ones.
Two of them cost me more than the product due to my lawyer haveing to intervene. But I was not about to let them get away with their BS and take my money. Now the young people that do not have the resources or money to fight back are the ones that get the shaft. They know here is someone that spent say $1,500.00 or so for something and its a piece of junk or problems arise under a warranty or whatever. They can come back and say thats not covered or its your fault or whatever reason but you get nothing. They know there isn't much you can do except maybe bring them to small claims court and to do that it will cost you probably more than the $1,500.00 you spent or the part you are complaing about. They also know that even if you win in small claims court it doesn't mean a thing because its not inforceable, to them its a drive down to their court house and a day of vacation. You on the other hand had to Fly there, rent a car, get a motel and spend money on food. The only way to get them to act is to get a lawyer have them write a letter to them about the problem and if no resolution is forte coming then you sue them and bring them to an actual court under Fraud, Deception, False advertisment etc.. Now for them to have a shot at winning they also have to get a lawyer, just that alone will change their tune. And I am not just blowing smoke, I have had to do just that twice. Alleyoop

Other than the misuse of the logos and a few minor issues with a few customers (that probably have already been resolved) greenearth seems to check out ok. I definately like the price. I just ordered the MP08 150 so we will see. I really liked the green but since I wear green at work and drive a green truck I decided to go with blue. The funny thing is this will make the 5th blue 2 wheeler in a row....

Hey Zugzug, Nothing wrong with blue. In fact when I ordered the Trikes I ordered one in Blue because my wife liked the Blue and my Brother-in Law wanted the Burgundy because his wife liked that color. And guess what we got TWO DARK GRAYS:) Oh well at least we got them. I am sure greenearth is ok, also dealers that sell a lot of product undoubtedly will have a few customers complain about something. Was this your Holiday Present. Alleyoop

I figured if i wanted something other than a pair of socks and a shirt I better buy it myself. I ride all year and I been using my wifes VLX since my nighthawk was wrecked. She doesn't ride it much but she does notice when theres some road grime on it. This week is the first time in 4 years I had to use the truck to go to work. I just didn't want to get all her chrome covered with salted road crud. So I figured the sooner I order it the sooner I can leave her bike in the shed and get back to riding every day.

She was PO'd at first when I told her I was getting a scooter because I wouldnt let her get one a couple years ago. At the time I had the Suzuki M109 (1800cc) and I just couldnt see her keeping up with me. So she opted for the Shadow. Last winter when I was laid off I lost the M109 and had to pull the project bike out and get it running (the nighthawk). Actually the Shadow and the Nighthawk were a good pair for riding together. Of course when her friend put it thru a ditch and into a fence I had to retire it. Actually I started making a bobber out of the nighthawk but if/when its finished it will only be a sunny day rider. With no fenders and pod filters it doesnt make for a good all weather bike.

Heck I ordered from evosales.com and received good service, and they were against the ropes on many customer issues.
The BBB thing is a (legal) issue, but customer raves and pans -unless fake- are not a bad thing.

Oh how very clever. Did Chris write that for you? You must be suffering from selective memory again Rich. We won that one since our scooters are as good as yours and cost less than half as much. Also the mechanics servicing them charge less. I'll tell you again why it's relevant and why it's snake oil. Because there's no way Znendirect is ever going to happen. You dealers don't want Flyscooters sold online and I'm sure you voiced your opinions loudly. Why else was it shut down so quickly? So rather than engage in honesty and integrity and shut it down they leave it there. Making themselves look good through deception and false claims. Of course you won't answer this one will you Mr. Flyscooter!! If I'm supposed to ignore it why don't you get off this BBB kick and ignore that?? Sauce for the goose, Rich. Or better yet, since you have so much time. Why don't you see if Peace industries in GA., Bashan America, any holding company that is associated with Green Earth or any other entity affiliated with them has a BBB approval? Nor BTW, have you bothered to answered my claim that you're out to discredit Green earth. While you've made all these claims about not recommending ATVD after they started pulling stunts with their customers I haven't seen you recommend any online sellers lately. Oh wait. Yes you have. Valley Scooters. Don't they sell Znen? Do I see a pattern here?

Hi KZ, Not jumping into the fray, but who do you work for? I work in the health care field with Mulitiply handicapped people. My day job is in a residence cooking, cleaning and caring for the needs of people with developmental disorders. I don't work for any online sellers, I bought my scooter from GS Motorworks a year and a half ago and I haven't gotten any favors from anybody. My warranty (the one I paid extra for) is up so I'll pay for any parts I need from here on out. Like the belt I bought and installed and the tire in my garage waiting for spring.

Every Peace we have had in our shop has been a POS and the customers tell us it was a mistake and they would never buy another one. Tell them I'll give them $50 for them and I'll come and get them. A Peace Bashan that was given a good PDI at birth will outperform just about anything out there. Of course if you just throw them together and pour in gas they'll give you grief, same as any high priced Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, Moto Guzzi, Ducati, Aprilia, Vespa, MV Augusta, BMW, Triumph, Harley Davidson, Victory, KTM, Big Dog..... Get the point?

long and seemingly never ending posts like this one remind me of Thunderdome. "Two men enter.... one man leaves." This would be a great way to settle this issue and for that matter many other things in life.
I believe I am showing my age by remembering this movie!

long and seemingly never ending posts like this one remind me of Thunderdome. "Two men enter.... one man leaves." This would be a great way to settle this issue and for that matter many other things in life. I believe I am showing my age by remembering this movie! Normally I just let a certain person exhibit his "supposed" knowledge and laugh. Not this time. I've lived through a time of dealers who'd steal your teeth if you weren't looking. We had a dealer on Long Island who was a legend. Ghost Motorcycle Sales. He bought used bikes ultra cheap and warehoused them so people had to buy new from him. He hung on to them for ten years and then sold them as "Classics" for more than they were worth. His service department was a joke. Your bike went in for service and came out running worse. My dad got so many of his unsatisfied customers it wasn't funny. I worked along side my Dad on motorcycles that are obscure Classics. Anybody here know what a Norton Atlas is? Now I have to hear about a stupid BBB label. Maybe in the Big Easy it's a point of honor but for someone who once worked in a company that employed over 30,000 people, and did work for the government, life was all about confusion and the big picture. I don't believe that somebody just sat down and said, "I know, let's hang a deceitful symbol on our website and see if we can get away with it." Let's go with the realistic notion that somewhere in the corporate pool somebody paid for it in some other place and just decided to hang it everywhere. As far as I'm concerned as long as I hear that Green Earth is delivering scooters in a reasonable amount of time, sending parts to cover warranty and repair issues and having The Math Club on the line to answer service and tech questions, then they're a reputable firm. I don't care if they put up a big button that says "Approved by KZ1000ST" without asking me, because to most people it's probably just as meaningless. Sounds like a good idea to me! Of course all the weapons have to be Made in China
I'm already in the process of waging that fight. Last spring Rich made comments like online scooters don't last and you can't wander far from home on a cheap online scooter. I only have 2500 miles so far but my commute has increased lately. Once I start to put some miles on the Bashan, I'll be sure to let the Flyscooter battalion know.

I meant other Chinascoots. Sorry I didn't put qualifiers on it. Obviously it won't outperform Taiwanese, Japanese, European or scooters from China built for those countries to their specs and costing three to five times as much.
