I am fairly new to scooters. Bought a 1 year old roketa from person not dealer. A few time it the scooter had a little trouble starting but when I gave it more gas it started. Riding two nights ago it just stopped running. Scooter would turn over but not start. Went to a friend who has a garage and he said it did not seem to be getting enough spark but not sure of scooter motors. Just called Kelly Sports in Brewer and he said he would not work on a Roketa. Junk he said. Could it be the gas? or what. Is there a coil? Help!!!!!!

"when I gave it more gas it started."
The first thing I'd check is the intake manifold. It's a large, black, round tube like structure going from the air cleaner to the carburetor. It might be cracked, and if so, is not a hard repair. We had to do it twice.
"I think that we've done it, really kicked Earth's climate system. And that says a lot," It's a beast. It's huge. And to have moved it in as short a period of time as a 100 years, basically, to have done that is enormous."
i had a problem this spring with mine. last season ran just fine, tried to fire it up this spring and all it would do was turn over. i pulled the plug and had no spark. took it to the dealer i got it from. it ended up just being a loose connection. has run perfect ever since. how many miles does it have? may be time for a valve adjustment.
i have a roketa half the time it wont start without a little gas to get it going but its by no means a big deal. do a vavle check as suggested make sure it has good gasline not the flimsy cheap original any autoparts store sells goodyear fuel line. also a new fuel filter (by the lawnmower parts in any hardware store) any will do mines about 2.5 inches across works fine then make sure the fuel line is as short as possable and running as little uphill as possable since its gravity fed. turn in fuel/air screw on carb gently all the way in GENTLY then turn out 2.5 turns. fill the tank. you will probably need to suck fuel through the filter at first to fill it up then reattach fuel line to carb and try that. would be good idea to replace the plug also with an iridium. but probably not nesscessary. and call that dealer back and tell him he doesnt know what hes talking about roketta isnt junk he just isnt competant enough to repair it! tell him forget it anyway you just repaired it yourself and saved the money!
btw brian here's a bone for coming here and trying to fix her yourself! i to was new last year with scooters had my issues just as anyone else here but worked through them one by one now i know this scooter and learned alot about it and am confident with the help of the dawgs i can fix it myself! i too had those stalling issues. it was either loose wiring or improper carb adjustment or fuel flow. you can take out the plug plug it back into the wire touch it to metal frame or something to ground have someone try to start it and see if theres spark. make sure your kill switch is not off. i know that seems obvious. goodluck!
upgrades: ngk iridium plug Dr. Pulley variator Dr. Pulley 12g sliders
brianmaine Don't take anything apart until you check your spark.. Pull the plug, reconnect spark plug wire & ground spark plug on exhaust, turn over engine w/ key watching spark plug, should have a blue spark. The spark should be the first thing you check..

marklorenzi: I just bought one of the Fleetwoods. They look like a clone of the Honda XRM's they sell overseas. It is in transit now and I should get it this week. I will try to post my experience here. Call me the guinea pig hahaha.
