Adjust your valve gaps procedure is in the 'hot to' thread in the 50cc section.
Stalling at stops is almost almost always valve gap

Its running to lean. The tell tell sign is after it gets hot is when you have the problem. Thats why it idles good and runs good when you start it because the choke is helping to get more fuel in. Once your choke is off and you are cranking it is overheating because of the lean mixture. Turn the Air/fuel mixture Counter Clockwise about 1/8 turn and listen if your rpms go up. If they go up turn it another 1/8 keep doing this until the Rpms Drop then Turn it Clockwise 1/8 turn and it should be where it should be. Then you might have to turn the IDLE screw Counter Clockwise to lower your Idle.
If its to Rich it will sputter at low throttle when you try to give it gas to get up and go. In that case you have to Turn the air/fuel mixture Clockwise 1/8 at a time again listen for Rpms to go up just like the above except your turning it in because of the To Rich of a mixture. Alleyoop

It seems EVERYTHING IS VALVES, First of all Valves DO NOT GET TIGHT "unless they were adjusted wrong" if they haven't been touched they get LOOSE from wear NOT TIGHT. If they are loose you will notice lack of power hard starting etc.. Check the most obvious things first. If it starts good idles good runs good and it dies after you come to a stop suspect overheating vapor lock something is overheating to cause this. And the easiest is to check if your running lean which is the most common because running lean gives you a little more power but can cause overheating when running at full or near full throttle. It seems EVERYTHING IS VALVES, First of all Valves DO NOT GET TIGHT "unless they were adjusted wrong" if they haven't been touched they get LOOSE from wear NOT TIGHT. As the proud owner of 5 scooters...the exhaust valve gap closes up in the first 1,000 or so miles. Just does. After that they may go in the other direction depending on carbon buildup. It has to do with the wear on the valve seat. Not the valve stem. In the old days...with leaded gas and rich mixtures...the carbon buildup on the valve seat would tended to offset the wear, hence they would only get loose. We are in a new age...running lean without lead. The valve gap closes as the valve seat wears...

Once again, Harry, Thanks for an explanation to a question I had. I wondered by the valves would seem to go tight, now, I know. I don't know if you have room for another bone, but, just in case, here comes one. Garyr

if it starts when cold and dies when warm .Its the stator. You will think carb first, but it will get progressively worse
