Okay guys - got some really good advice on my last post regarding this scooter not starting and acting like it's starved for gas - it'll idle somewhat, but if you give it WOT it will die immediately. Pulled what-I-thought-was-the-culprit petcock off and replaced with a simple on/off petcock - I know gas is getting to engine now, but it still will not idle for more than a few seconds and if you try and give it any throttle when it's idling, it will die. Could this be a carb thing? Little history - it ran fine last summer and then we didn't run it for about 3-4 days and this issue started. If we pull the airbox and spray in carb cleaner, it'll run until it's done burning the cc - then chug out. Thoughts?

For future reference...it helps if you stay with your original problem thread.
You bought the bike at auction correct? Was it used at that time? If gas sits in the tank/carb bowl for a long time it turns to varnish and clogs your jets. The chinese hoses are also known to occasionally rot from the inside filling up your carb with rubber bits. Rubber rot is time based, not mileage based.
I'm assuming since you said the bike is a year old and has 150 miles on it that the gas in the tank is close to a year old...probably not even good to use as BBQ starter fluid anymore.
Did you plug the leftover hose when you removed your vacuum petcock, these bikes are ultra-sensitive to vacuum leaks.

Hey harrywr2 - the scooter was 'technically' new when I bought it - it had about 20 miles on it. I've run a couple tanks of gas through the engine in the time we've owned it and have replaced the fuel with brand new stuff last summer/early fall when all these problems started and again when I started all these 'attempted' repairs this year. Now that I think about it, I don't remember if we plugged the leftover hose when we swapped out the petcocks - I'm going to have to give that a shot tonight...thx much!

You might want to change out your fuel filter also.
