I have a Panterra freedom 1999 50cc qmb139. it was a toad when I bought it. I have changed the jet to a #85. I have ripped out the air box and replaced it with a K&M air filter. I have also changed the clutch spring to a 1500 rpm spring. and still very little impact. I am trying to keep up with my friend Cartman on his wildfire 50 cc. even before we both did the mods his would blow me away on a straight away and up hill with power to spare. his revs to a higher rpm with much faster take off speed and higher top speed. with the new spring I do get a higher rev out of the motor but it still does not want to move. I really enjoy the body style and the look of a true two seater and with the rear brake on the floor instead of on the bars. someone please help me I am desperate!!!!!!. Is there any kind of adjustments that can be made such as valves( and how do you do it.) or timing that they may have retarded to reduce the rpm and speed of this bike. any information javascript:add("%20???") ???would be deeply appreciated. I am on the verge of just getting a new scooter and selling this one but I cannot find one with a brake pedal on the floor. javascript:add("%20: ")javascript:add("%20:-[")javascript:add("%20:'(")

First, you have to realize that your scooter is 10 years old. The engine probably has a lot of wear and tear. I would recommend changing the variator weights to something lighter. This will let the engine rev higher before the CVT changes to a higher gear ratio. These little 50cc engines have their power band in the higher RPM range, so they need to rev more to make power.

I stand corrected it is a 2004 with about 2100 miles on it I believe I have 8 gram weights in it. changing to say 6.5gram would boost performance? would this help with acceleration and top end?

Could a CDI box help as well. if they control ignition and mapping would changing this help increase the rev limit as well as show more power as well?

It is probably old enough that it has built in factory restrictors to limit your speed to under 30mph. If you will just do a little research in this 50cc forum you will find a lot of information on de-restricting and on making it go faster. This question has been hashed out probably a hundred times. Not on your particular scooter but on 139qmb scooters in general. Start here; scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=19197go here; scootdawg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=3454You will find all you need to know. And yes a performance CDI could help. a big bore kit would help, re-jetting the carb might be needed with the mods you already did. And a tutorial for adjusting the valves is in the links I already gave you.

Ok its a 04 with heavy weights. Swap those out with some 6.5G and see where that gets you. With the spring in there you may need 7.5G to compress it properly.
