I bought a Linhai 257-powered Vog clone from Global Trailer that only has an XY260T-4 emblem on the back panels. Geico insured it under the builder name Zhejiang. What brand is it really? People are always asking me and I don't know what to say. I don't think I can even pronounce "Zhejaing", so I hope that isn't it.

Hello rmda: What a great question kinda sums up the whole Chines brand scooter industry in a nut shell. Just tell people it is a CCS , model XY260T. or give it a name since the Vog is sort of Burgman copy, try to be creative. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Global Trailer called it a "Super Scout", but that's just the name they put on it to sell. But it must have some kind of Chinese brand (besides "Zhejaing").

Dean, Thanks for the link. That's my scoot. So it's an XingYue - interesting...but I still can't pronounce it. Oh well, that question's answered. Whatever it is, it's been an ok scoot (starts right up, accelerates smoothly, has a good top end, etc). I'm happy...

That's all that matters...they're all orphans when we get 'em...we adopt them and wipe their noses and change their diapers...call it what you want, like an RMDA 260 Custom...

I have adjusted the air/gas mix out to 2.5 roughly, but she still has no Vroom Vroom. Any ideas from the dawg pound on this would greatly help!

Is yours hard to start or runs rough or some problem besides the low top end? she starts up like a dream, I just did the idle adjustment (factory adjust was about 900 rpm , now she idles at 1500. I have a little back fire on de-excelleration but thats probably due to the air/fuel mix being off, so I plan to adjust that tonight. After that I'm at a loss as to why I have only a top end of 40 - 45 mph. It feels like the scoot wants to "lurch" at WOT but once I reach 45 she just feels like she has nothing left.

I think these scoots are made by Jonway. My buddy has the XY250TT. I wish you luck with your scoot as he has constant problems with it.

Earl has a mega thread on various trials and tribulations and solutions here--- scootdawg.proboards59.com/index.cgi?board=200cc&action=display&thread=7135If your gas tank is up front then you have a vacuum fuel pump. WOT is when the engine produces the least vacuum. A kinked or leaky vacuum hose would be where I would look first. More than a few people have opted to install an electric fuel pump.

Mine is titled as make "Zhejaing" as well. It's a Xingyue (pronounced Zing-Wee) XY150T. Interesting to know there are others not labeled as such -- hmmm

My Vog 260 is a XingYue XY260T-4 as well. Mine has the mono shock in the rear but I have heard that earlier models came with duel shocks.

Same as mine, made by Xingyue group product. Mine came to NC via rabbit scooters in Cal. Check the engine oil in rear end. Mine has a sticker that said to change to engine oil at 300 miles and I did. Noticed a sticker on rear end that said change at 300 also 15w-40. NO oil in rear end, put in 250ml. now ok but runs rich etc.
Look at plate on right side frame under seat, show mfg. name etc. This plate is alum, on frame, underseat, next to engine but on upper frame tube.

bdsyncher....check your air intake connection at the carb....make sure it is securely fastened all the way around. Mine came loose at about 800 miles, and I could barely get it to 55mph. One side down were I couldn't really see it, had come off just a hair....just enough to cause a minor air/vacuum leak. It wasn't enough to effect the idle or riding, but enough to where the carb couldn't do its job properly. The valves are not causing his speed problem. They would be affecting his idle, and engine cutout while slowing down, which he doesn't have. Also make sure your brake pads aren't hanging, and check your throttle cable and make adjustments as necessary.

Other than the original scam about this scoot having a supercharger, it's been very reliable. I do all of the oil and gear oil changes and whatever myself and have come to have quit a bit of faith in it's overall reliability. I'm handicapped and can't walk more than a few feet without a cane, so I have to trust it and my cell phone. So far I haven't needed to use the phone for a rescue. I did find a cane that folds up and fits under the seat. Mine has a top end of only 60 or 62 MPH with the motor running @ 5700RPM. On take off the RPM's rap right up to 4ooo and then stays there until 40MPH is reached, then the RPM's go up with the MPH very smoothly. I've never had the CVT cover off or done the valve job. Currently I have 2500 China scoot miles on her and am very happy, though I wish I could afford to buy that 400 Bergman. Fuel injection I think would end a lot of worries out there on reliability.

Electric - Very cool. Just FYI, I added motorcycle coverage to my AAA membership. It is quite cheap. Gives me the peace of mind that I can call them if I need a jump, run out of gas, or break down somewhere. gary

Gary, I went with progressive. Free roadside assistance on site, and a 15 mile trailer to, if they don't fix you on the road. Nice $184. a year. 12 months

A newbie back again. Been too disappointed and discouraged to post since finally receiving my "supercharged Yamaha-Zenshe clone" XY260T-4 (sans supercharger, of course). I bought mine from a Sugar Land (near Houston) seller via an eBay ad for $2,300 plus state tax, licensing, inspection, shipping, and insurance fees which added another $500. The check cleared two days before Hurricane Ike struck land, and I finally received it two and a half months later with numerous paint scratches and one area the size of my palm scraped off the left front fairing, way down low, where I didn't discover it until two days after signing off on delivery. As I live 300 miles from Houston it isn't possible for me to go down there, raise hell, return it, get it fixed, or even get parts. On the first trip to Wal*Mart I noticed it rode hard as a dump truck and the handlebars wobbled, so I assumed it was the cheap tires, with the front one out-of-round. I ordered new Avon AM63 Viper Strykes for $100 and took everything to a local bike shop for a tire change. The next day they informed me that the wobble was actually due to a bent rim on the rear wheel. I told them to remove the back rim and I'd send it to a motorcycle rim straightener in Dayton, Ohio. After removal I could see several deep gouges on one inner surface and a badly whacked place that looked like the rim had been pitched onto a pile of rims from a second floor loft. The tire had been mounted on the rim with it in that condition at the Chink factory with absolutely NO attempt at quality control. Not knowing how or where to get an exact replacement rim I thought the safest course was to have the original one repaired. The rim is now en route to Dayton, with an estimated straightening fee of $120 to $150 plus $28 round trip shipping. Shop labor charges for disassembly, tire mounting, and re-assembly will be $175. All totalled, my brand new Chink XY260T-4 with paint blemishes and a lost fall riding season will have cost me well over $3,000. That's assuming there aren't more surprises waiting for discovery after the wheel and tire problems are corrected. I might put Chevy emblems on the no-name Chink scoot and tell everyone that GM is downsizing to more fuel efficient vehicles. Last week I saw a beautiful red Honda 700 Shadow on Craigs List locally for only $1,600. Am I discouraged? You bet, but it's my own fault. I'm old enough to know better. Meanwhile, I'm making steady progress on rebuilding the '87 Honda Helix I destroyed four months ago when the dreaded left-turning cage from opposing traffic damn near wiped me out too. The forks, handlebars, and controls are now replaced. next comes the shocks, wheel, and body plastic. I still walk a little gimpy but am almost back to normal. I bounce real good for a 77 year-old ex-Harley rider who has trouble hiking a leg over the saddle any more. A scoot keeps me on two wheels. Thanks to all you posters on this site for the helpful information.

electric57 - mine has the dual shocks too... RMDA or anybody else for that matter. I'm looking to get a set, front and rear, wheels for my XY260T-4. I have tried to get Global Trailer to order the parts, but they don't want to talk to me. Any suggestions? I ordered a set from Roketa, but they were for a VOG and won't fit on this scoot. I sent an E-Mail to I-scooter parts, but haven't heard back from them as of yet. Thanks.

texanforever, your wheel rim damage was no doubt caused by shipping, not factory error. If you notice, the rear wheel is held in place by two metal bars for shipping, and if the carton falls over, the rear wheel will be torqued badly.. since you had other body damage, I think that was the cause.
My XY260T-4 was insured by Geico as a XiingYue - the name of the company is Zeijang Xingyue (Zeijang being the name of the Province, like Ohio ). It has dual shocks and was built in August 2008. No problems so far, but I did extensive PDI.
I paid $ 1825 thru ebay dealer TMS Motorsports.
By the way the 'Earl megathread' referred to above is NOT the same scooter, it is a MC250B which is more a Honda Reflex clone, not a Burgman clone... but much of the info in the thread is good stuff. Same engine.

I finally did buy the Bergman 400. What a difference $6K makes. Still have the XY260T-4. I'll sell it to a friend that wants it in the spring.
