Hello, I'm a new member here and wanted to write a short review about the Fashion. Back in December of '07' I was following the news about the expected spike in gas prices come spring so I started keeping a eye out for a scooter. I already had a Honda Goldwing, but MPG is only 40-42. Which isn't bad but isn't something to brag about either.Plus wrestling a Goldwing just to ride to work isn't fun. It is made for the open road. Those who know Goldwings can relate I'm sure. Now let me say I knew a little about the CFMOTO Brand so I wasn't going in blind. I had brieviously purchased one for my wife, but it was too big for her so she decided to sell it.While killing some time I seen a Fashion on the Tampa Bay Craigslist. A 2006 Model with 425 Kilometers for $1,450.00.Well of course I called knowing what these sell for new. To make a long story shorter I made the trip from North Georgia and purchased it.
My commute to work is 42 to 45 miles depending on the route I take, so about 85 to 90 miles a day.I live in the country so traffic is not a problem.(no I really can't move closer. I work for the railroad and there always cutting jobs here and adding jobs there, etc...)
Starting in March, I now have 9,100 Kilometers(6500 miles or so) showing on the scooter. It's been almost flawless. I did have coolant comeing from the "weep" hole. I replace the seal behind the water pump with Honda Helix OEM part and the gasket( about $45.00 I think). I used Castrol 10W30 oil until about 4,000 kilometers and now have switched to Rotella 5W40 synthetic Oil.
I change the oil every 2,000 Kilometers and the Gear oil every other change(Also Rotella but I can't remember the weight). The main thing I would change about the scooter is it would be nice for it to read in MPH. But for the price I paid for it I can't complain to much. Only other thing I've done is put a set of tires on it. Randstein(spelling???) from tires unlimited.Very smooth tires.Don't know about rain though(I try to avoid wet pavement)The OEM Cheng chin tires are basically trash. Absolutely the worst tires I've ever ridden on.Anyway That is the story so far. My plan is to finish out the fall the way it is. Then bring it in and do some preventative maintenance on it over the winter.(Belt, roller inspection,plug,etc...). PS- I ride it to work every chance I get if Rain chance is below 50%. Been lucky so far.
