I Have A 50cc Scooter Sold By Peace Sports. This Scooter Is Similar To The Roketa And Tank Scooters. What Kind Of Oil Should I Put In It? Also, Same Question For The Gear Oil. The Manuel That Comes With This Scooter Isn't Clear On What To Use. I've Seen Where Different People Put Different Oil In The bSame Scooter. Thanks, Richanne

2008 Roketa Maui 50cc, I've changed my oil twice using 10w 40. Changed my gear oil once with I think was 75/90 or 80/90 regular gear oil. I not that fond of synthetic, but still would like to know what the actual oil weight to use in engine oil and gear oil or what kind of oil is best for the scooter.

10W40 engine oil is a good choice, lots of people here like 15W40 Rotella T. You don't need a cycle oil for these scoots, because they do not have wet clutches, just motor oil. If you like synthetics use them. Many like 75W90 gera oil, others use the 80W90, and some use 10W40 motor oil. 10W40 motor oil is actually similar to 75W90 gear oil because of the way they are rated. Once again, use synthetic if you would like.

Just a side note, being in Wisconsin we use 10W40 in all our scooters for oil and 80/90 for gear lube. If you want to use synthentic I would recommend Amsoil 4 Stroke Synthetic Scooter Oil which is also 10W40. I wouldn't use synthetic until you have broken in the motor say 300 miles or so. Some like synthetic oil and some don't, personally I am old school and like regular oil, but if you want to use synthetic I have heard great stuff about Amsoil.
Happy Scooting

Another side note. If you use PreMix for 2 strokes, Amsoil makes a 100:1 premix for 2 cycle stuff. Now I am a bit careful how lean I make my 2 stroke oil, however I have used this and mixed it at 50:1 for our pocket bikes, my lawn mower and weed eater. The machines do not smoke and are easier to start so I guess it works but still very leary of going to 100:1.
