Hi there The lights did not come with a wire harness, so I tapped into the regular lights that come on with the power. It seems that these markers are used as signal lights in other parts of the world, but according to US DOT they are not of correct distance apart, thus new set of lights are added. I bought my Nitro At Lawrenceville Honda on Rt 316 in Lawrenceville Georgia Here are some pictures, I hope they come out. In the first picture you can see the amber lights on Thanks George Athens, Georgia

Hey George,
Thanks for the info on the lights. They looked nice lit up on the first photo. Maybe my dad can take a look at ours and see if he can wire ours up the same way.
I talked with the guys at Lawrenceville, but at the time all that had was the Tomos Velo. I liked the look of the Nitro better. I found our scooters at Scooter Superstore in Norcross, GA. They had two 150cc and 3 50cc at the time. They were great to deal with.
Where did you get your top case from? I'm still looking at accessories to determine what I want.
I'll post pics of my dad's Nitro tonight. He got a blue one.

i was going to call heeters and see exactly which windshield they have on this bike. it blends in pretty well. some time in the future im going to look into a SHAD top case, theyre a little pricey but seem like nice units. i like the colorchange and backrest options. www.justgottascoot.com/shadsh40.htm

We took the bulbs out of the dud turn signals tonight. One has only a piece of the wire - so short that you can't even sauder new wire on. The other one doesn't even have a piece of wire - it looks as if they siliconed the bottom side of the bulb completely. Will probably try finding a new bulb somewhere that has wires already attached...any ideas?
Thanks for the info, George, regarding the top case and the windshield. I think I may contact Lawrenceville to see about the windshield there.

I've decided to order the top case like the one on the post that voodoosix posted from heeters.com. I'm still undecided about the windshield.

something ive failed to mention in this thread....
the headlights on these are actually pretty good, the high beams light up dark roads with no problems.

The lights do work great. I have to say after reading many of the forums, I think we are pretty lucky with our purchase of the Nitro. I hear such horror stories as to the new chinese scoots that are out there. I have not had any what so ever....knock wood...problems with my scoot. I just got back today from 140 mile round trip, trip with it and it went great. Of course I am mostly/always on country roads, but the Back roads here in Georgia are beautiful for this.
I have also heard that many of the 150cc scoots do not get much better than 65-70 mpg, I know voodoo has gotten around 93 and my highest so far was 92, so there is another advantage. I would hope more owners of the Nitro would tell about their satisfaction with their scoots.
Thanks

Not all Nitros are trouble free. My 150 had to be replaced.
Rear axle was bent causing the lower shock mount to flex. Motor mounts were welded off center giving an alignment problem. Knocking noise in the front end, mirrors losing adjustment, rear fender fell off and almost every metal clip that the screws go into snapped. As well as at least one screw, bolt or nut will fall out per day.
On both my 150 and 50 the steering head nuts were spinning free and the front brake disc bolts backed out to where they were hitting the caliper.
I haven't found a 150 that runs right either. They bog so bad you have to run beside them to get them to move without stalling. Neither the dealer or Tomos has a clue. Replaced carb, no change. I shimmed the needle so it at least moves ok but it still has a bad mid-range bog. Valve adjust? Jets? No idea what to try next.
Couldn't be happier with the 50. Can't believe the 150 is made by the same company.

i havent had any trouble with bogging or anything coming loose...
but i agree about those cheap clips. i get a knock -or thud rather- in the front end when i hit a bump, i think its due to the front fairing being mounted to only one hard point.
im also thinking that the engine in the 150 isnt an SYM made unit like the 50cc, it looks identical to the replacement GY6s i see people buying and i cant find an SYM stamp on it like the 50cc has. they probably out sourced the 150cc.
the biggest gripe i have is that my left side handle bar was made with what looks like a piece from a scrap bin. (dealer is replacing it though)

I was under the bodywork of the first one and strapped down anything that looked like it can move. No improvement. I find I can make the knock if I throw all my weight on the handle bars while holding the front brake. It seems like the shock boot is getting caught on the fender.
The bogging is a mystery. Every 150 the dealer had you couldn't even rev up on the stand until it was running for at least 10 minutes. After adding a couple of washers under the needle it was better, but if I accelerate slowly or try to hold 10-15 mph it still bogs and surges. It also has more of a harsh old VW Beetle sound where the 50 has a nice quiet thump.
When I was choosing the replacement only one of the three bikes he had didn't have a bad rear wheel wobble.

Gee Im sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your 150. Maybe it was made on a Friday afternoon. I have no complaints of any of the things that you discussed in the thread. Maybe I just got lucky

More like the last prototype built on a Friday before a long weekend by dyslexic monkeys.
In all fairness, the replacement isn't all that bad. It's still dropping screws and has the bog problem but I'm sure I'll get it solved. The bike is a nice size and looks good. We put it on a carrier behind the motorhome and brought it with us to Wisconsin Dells and Oshkosh. Doubling with the wife we were able to do 50-55 mph and a solid 35 climbing hills. That's more than expected from an over loaded 150.

Tomas Mopeds have a very good rating in Canada. Hopefully the scooters will be the same. It was a tossup between Tomos and Kymco or truly mainline with Yamaha Vino 125. Only went with the Vino because the other two dealers were 10 hours away and I wanted to be close to servicing. Very Happy with Vino 125 . Just about at 1,000 km and getting ready to taker in for first oil change.

I have a lift and ready to use behind my motorhome also. Have not done that just yet. We are planning a trip in the fall, but usually pull the SUV. Would love to leave the suv at home and just use the scoot

Low 60's here too. I keep forgetting to check it against the gps. I'm not holding up traffic anywhere within city limits, so I'm happy with it.

something else to add for anyone interested in one of these..... if you look at the pics... you will see that there is a cut back section of the leg shield where it meets the floor board and that the floorboards protrude past it. this allows for your feet to be placed in a forward position if desired. a very nifty feature for us taller riders when going 2 up. this pic shows a good shot of it-

Hi! I got the windshield from heeters.com for my scoot. The windshield is great - really blocks the wind from you. It is just high enough but doesn't block your vision any. The service from Heeters was also superb!

Any of you guys having a problem with your gauge lenses?
On my first 150 it looked like dust was collecting under the lens near the edge, blocking the numbers. When the shop took it apart, they were almost accusing me of using steel wool to clean the underside even though I never had the pod apart! It looked like something was rubbing against it, causing scratches.
Now I can see it starting to happen again on the second 150 and also my wifes 50. It looks like the plastic they are using is defective and doesn't hold up well to sunlight. Sort of like an old acrylic drinking glass that gets those internal cracks.

mine looked like it was wiped with something from the inside that left a residue. i used some "Kit Scratch Out" and polished the heck out of all 3 of them. while at the dealer i mentioned it to them and another owner said he had the same thing, they produced a new instr cluster and even it had the same prob.
my dealer thought it was something i did too at 1st, till every bike in the place was shown to have the same issue. they used Plexus and it didnt work as good as the Kit. its something from the factory apparently. i didnt get it all out, id say 85-90% though.

I just got the Tomos Nitro 150 about 6 weeks ago. I am actually really happy with it until just recently. Two days ago I noticed a very audible metallic rattle at about 35+ MPH when I let off the throttle. Has anyone else noticed this?
