yarddogs valve adjustment method works on any one cylinder engine,
on adjusting the valves on the linhai engine, you can take both covers off and watch rockers as you turn the engine with the variator ccw, when the rockers quit moving or are level as they can get, turn engine 3/4 turn more, if the rockers dont move you can adjust them. if one moves turn another turn and watch. adjust to .005 in and .006 ex.
on my bali 244cc i loosen the adjuster bolts the adjusters fall which ever way they want to, then turning the engine ccw with the variator, they level automatically i turn the engine 3/4 turn more and adjust push outward and back 004-005 in (one mark). on both valves tighten lock bolts.
reasoning: when the rockers level out or quit moving the valves are closed and the followers are on the back side of camshaft away from lobes the 3/4 turn is to make sure the followers are off of the lobes. so adjust them. cause the cam turns half as much as the crank.
with all the different books and methods and confusion i had to find a "universal" way to adjust them.
this works on all of our engines.
so that is yarddogs way. keep it simple.

This should be a 'sticky'.

That's what I did on my Bali 150 yarddog. I just pressed the kick starter by hand until I was stopped by the compression stroke (both valves down) and adjusted them. On my Mainstreet 300 I plan to remove the covers and crank the engine in the correct rotation by wrench on the variator nut until stopped by compression. Oldkid
