In that ratttled kinda, semi confusing sentence....you mean DAVID, will make them better. Hmmmm, that's what I said, see, we do agree, David is Da Man!
NOTE....COOL, at least editted, it makes sence now. David is still DaMan.

Dwild62, We have someone that just came on here saying he has a rattling sound coming from somewhere but he doesn't even own a Trike. Maybe he is in the wrong Thread? Alleyoop Oh.....so all NON trike owners aren't allowed to play? Hmmmm, gonnna have to have this checked on. Not quite how I thought these forums worked... BTW... I DO own a trike, just FYI.

Oh, its you Kliff, I didn't recognize who it was. No, you did not read it right, you complained about a rattle but you don't have a Trike so I said maybe your in the wrong thread. Oh and by the way on the 50cc thread when I tried to help a fellow Dawg you told everyone don't pay attention to people that don't own a 50cc? Let me ask you a FLAT OUT QUESTION: Why are you doing this? Alleyoop You better read my post again, I made no complaint about a rattle, just a comment on your "rattled" in-cohesive sentence structure, before your edit. But I DO have a trike, and I'm about to push the button on another. No, I said to seek out those with the MOST experience on 50cc scooters, which will more than likely be owners, but could be vastly experienced individuals too. Thankfully, we have 4 guys here that are top of the line on 50cc scoots, and I put their knowledge and experience before just about everyone, but ESPECIALLY, non owners, with little scooter or bike experience at all. Doing what? Praising David, and setting him ahead of the Field, here in the trikes section. That's just my opinion, I thought we were agreed. No one is forcing you to agree with my opinion. If you think you're better than David, say so. If you think you match his skills, experience or abilities, show us. David shows us with nearly every post, cutting, welding, building. If you're gonna knock DaMan off the mountain, go for it. nd if you disagree with me, that David ain't Da Man, pray tell us, who in your opinion is?

Dwild62, Is the Trike still running good with your last re-jetting? If your riding it in this warm weather how is the muffler holding out. Well they are saying by the end of this coming week the temps around here will get into the high 30s-40 degrees. So tomorrow I am changing over to 11g Sliders so if the weather man is correct I want to be ready and see how it runs with the 11s. It is running strong with the 12s and pulls really good even with the Taller Tires, but I want to see what if any improvement the 11s might give. A good run will also test out the Taller Windshield at speed to see how much wind is deflected from me. Alleyoop

Jrryan, Yes, we found some KENDA Trailer Tires they are rated 77M which is 905lbs per tire and 81mph. They are 205/65-10, they are 20.8" tall. David ordered his last week and will be getting them Tomorrow. All the other dealers I asked questions of their tires did not respond, so that tells me they LIED on their web pages OR they do not even have them and just have them shipped from their distributors. YO DAWG'S BAD NEW, BEAR OPERATORS!! We'll be finding out exactly what the Gear Box in the trikes consists of........... I headed out for Syracuse, NY this morning, had to maneuver around a little to get turned around so I could get out the driveway... Well, it jumped a couple of times in forward like it had in the past (but hasn't done it in a long time), then it seemed OK, got about 15 miles or so, & all of a sudden it goes RIP!!! Sounded like it took every tooth off the Gears.... Needless to say, BEAR DOESN'T GO ANYMORE!! BEAR IS BROKEN!!

Dwild62, WOW!! Sorry to hear that, has to be that Damn Reverse and Forward Gear that slides back and forth. Did you check if it wasn't the Differential Spider Gears that gave out. Well Last year when I checked about a New Engine they wanted $416.00 Plus $85.00 for shipping.
But if your going to tear it down maybe now you can up the Gearing for more Top Speed. Alleyoop

Alley Positive it's not the differential... Hell I can start it up, release all the brakes, & stand to the right side & twist the throttle while watching the drive sprockets, & it doesn't move, just sits there & grind...

OK Dawg's Here's the jumping drive problem.... David Sr.

A Dawg's What a depressing day.. Just got Bear reassembled, so the parts don't get lost... Everything in the transmission gear box & it's components are in good shape, all of that jumping I was getting last fall & part of the winter went away, then came back about 3 times over this last couple of weeks.. I believe there's 2 possibilities, 1) The left side engine case had a flaw in the casting of the final drive where the bearing was held in place, allowing the bearing & shaft to move, which allowed the teeth to jump, breaking out the casting, or 2) The final drive shaft was flexing dew to all the torque & weight (400 lb + 260 lb = 660 lb) & causing the gears to jump teeth & busting up the case.. I'll bet that's wolfhound's & his body's problem too!! Here the kicker thought, remember over the winter the email I said I got from Ice Bear that they basically said there was a known problem in the drive train, but nobody would say exactly what that problem was?? Well listen to this, I call Scooters Dynasty, & they said the 150cc trikes are no longer available w/ a reverse gear box because of all the problems.. NOW IS THAT SOME sh!t OR WHAT?? David Sr.

Mr. Alley Ya, those are the details I'm waiting on, 1 step at a time I guess..
The Car & Motorcycle show got canceled at the last minute last weekend... So w/ any luck I can get the Bear back in good health in time for the rain date, when ever they get one...

Dwild62, That left side behind the Clutch is that Dry to check out the Gears or do you have to drain the gear oil. I have a new Clutch that I want to put in so I might as well check out the Gears in there as well. Alleyoop

Alley The gears behind the clutch is the final drive unit, the final drive out put shaft goes into the forward /reverse gear box, gear oil flows between both units.. So to answer your question is, yes you have to drain gear oil.. I did notice that the forward /reverse gear box & it's gear components is more complex than I thought it would be, more complex than the final drive is..

als01seville Scooter Dynasty told me this when I was talking to them about replacing the head on the BEAR.. They said "this is a 157QMJ GY6, also known as a 157QMJ GY7, this engine is use only in scooters w/ 16" wheels, trikes, & Go-Karts. When I was looking for a new head for my "08 Longbo, one website I was looking at, had a complete head at a vary good price, but I didn't buy it because they said it only fit the GY7 engine. So to sum it up, the GY7 engine is actually just another type of GY6 engine, like GY6a & GY6b.. So instead of nick naming it a GY7, why don't they just call it a GY6c engine.. This head is deeper. This engine is a short case, but I think the final part of case where the gear box bolts up is different than a standard short case..
