I guess nobody can tell me who in fact makes this scooter?
Does it have a rear disc brake & is it water-cooled?
Thanks for any insight.

Derbi: Looks like the same exact scooter, but awhile back I contacted a guy that sells Jonway & he said that Jonway model is no longer sold in the USA.

The OP never said it was a brand new 2012 scooter, just that he got a new scooter and loves it. and ive seen these scooters at my local Chinese scooter dealer, he has a few 2008 models left.

It is a Jonway Rock Thunder with a Gy6 aC but it ready for a 250 or a 300 LC engine . It had disc F&R 16 wheels , wireless remote start , alarm andradio with mp3 adapter . The ride is superb very stable andf can do around 65 MPH stock plus it has a tach with a 10k redline . It is a very good scooter . I rode a friends home from the dealer and ordered one before I got to his home I liked it so much . I have mine in storage not wanting to put miles on it for now as I have two other scooters to ride for now . Now the brake fluid should be changed then bled on that model . I was dumbfounded after my Jonway Magnum has over kill brakes that could sling me off of the seat.
If you wanta 16 wheel scooter this is the one to get unless you can afford a SYM HD 200

feeling blue?
Great looking scoot!
I like the way the exhaust looks! I'd suggest to keep it on for a little longer, until it's worn out or something...

it is a brand new 2012 the name on it says Rock Thunder and the back says YY150T-6, it has radio and an mp3 hook up inside the glove box also in the glove box it has a accesory plug so you can charge the mp3 player, the wheels are 16", the headlight is very bright which i love, it has built in alarm that is very sensitive cant even take the helmet off the scooter without it going off.... im not 100% sure where he gets them from but he can still get them, right now its completely stock and i havent had it over 6k rpms and yesterday i took it on the hwy and with GPS had it to 59mph and never went over 6500 rpms cuz im still doing the break in, one thing i like is it has 2.5 gallon gas tank instead of the 1.5 gallon like my magnum 150cc, also the variator is 124mm stock unlike even the racing variator that are 115mm, also the disc brakes on front and rear help a whole lot.

i plan to get some 10g sliders after my break in period will let yah know how it does with them, but i figure if im getting 59mph at 6500 rpm then it could definetly use some lower weights so that i can get it in the 7500 power band, but wont do much of that untill after 300-500 miles on it so i get a good break in before i got max it out.

Derbi the second link says Rock Thunder but it is an Echarm . Your first link is correct . It has a grill already to install a radiator for a 250 or 300cc LC engine

The Rocketa model has wheels painted the same color as the body and looks good to me but I would prefer black wheels myself

Thought about this Jonway "Rock Thunder" for the last couple of days for a purchase. $1500.00, plus $200.00 S/H. I decided to go with a Kymco Super 8 150cc instead. Yes...The Super 8 will cost me $700.00 more, but in the end I feel better about my purchase.
No warranty with Jonway. Kymco=2 years. There is a Jonway dealer within 15 minutes of my parents home in Florida, but no warranty. The Kymco dealer is 32 miles away. No need for a PDI with the Kymco either. They work out-of-the-box!
The "Rock Thunder" is one fine looking scoot! But...Another thing that worries me is that they no longer sell this model in the US anymore. How about if I dumped-it for whatever reason, good luck finding new plastic parts for it (IMHO)
Sometimes it's simply better to buy a brand name in the end. Yes...You pay a little more, but you get what you pay for.
