 (Re-)Wiring regulator question
« Thread Started on Feb 4, 2010, 11:57am »

I hope somebody can understand what I mean here.....
I have a Baja SC150 with a 5-wire regulator/rectifier. I've finally got around to some rewiring now as the regulator gave out.
I have a green, a white, and a yellow wire coming off of the stator that all go to the regulator. When the engine is running there is AC voltage at both the yellow and the white wire, varying with engine RPM's. And the green wire is ground. So far, so good.
Now, the other 2 wires, one black, one red. Is one of these suppose to be for 'everything' and the other just for charging the battery? It seemed like one had a little more voltage (DC) than the other when tested at the connector, but like I said, it is now not working(charging).
I am adding a fuse box instead of just having 1 fuse for everything. What I have is just 2 wires coming off of the battery (after a circuit breaker), one to the solenoid and one going up to the new fuse box in the 'glovebox'. I removed the original wire from the battery that had the fuse in it.
Now, one of the fuses goes directly to the red wire on the regulator/rectifier.
I haven't traced it, but I'm guessing the black wire from the regulator goes to the ignition switch.
Since everything now goes through the fuse box first, if I leave everything like this, will it blow fuses (or all my LEDs) from getting 'charging voltage' from the regulator?

Wiring diagram on page 37 of Owners Manual.

I've got the same diagram in the book, but it is easier to read in the .pdf.
Of course, it doesn't match all the wiring on the scoot....And it doesn't have an alarm, so now there is none of that wiring in my way.
And what is the box on the diagram that is unmarked at the top of the diagram between the alarm and rear lights?
