I initially thought this post was going to be about how the Chinese bikes come with GREEN ground wires instead of the standard BLACK that everyone over here is used to.
Took me forever to figure out how to wire something on this scoot.

Two more days till my BRC class... Ohh well, I'll probably be asleep through 90% of both days anyway, lol! Wish I could get a temp tag or something so I could take my scoot to the class ;p
I'm itching to ride it so bad, every time I walk out for a cigarrette I wanna just kickstart it, or sit on it, i have to admit i've even made vroomvroom noises cuz i don't wanna start it inside too many times, lol

FLSunRider: Sorry you can't get out and ride.
One thing about life here in lackadaisical South Carolina; to get a MC license, one doesn't have to take any kind of safety or skills training. You simply take a vision and a knowledge test, then the DMV will issue you a beginners permit. You have to practice for at least 180 days, then you can take your skills test to get a full, fledged motorcycle license.
That allows you to ride immediately, but with some restrictions. You can't ride from 6pm to 6am without supervision from a licensed rider. My neighbor and my brother-in-law are both motorcyclists so I get tips and advice often. I am always careful. All the gear, all the time.

Congrats on the new bike, looks great!
Buzzing sound... Tough call. These are really great bikes and a lot of fun but they don't have the same fit and finish as their Japanese counterparts (at three time the price).
Have you done the PDI? That is your chance to put a dab of blue loctite or silicone on each nut and screw and snug them down. Also look for any surfaces that might be too close to each other resulting in that buzz and shim it with something appropriate. With regard to that, you'll just have to be creative and figure it out case by case.
One thing I can tell you is that both of mine seem to vibrate less with time. As they get broken in, they start to run smoother.
As for the stripped out bolts - Is it the bolts or the nuts that are stripped?
If it's the bolts I would try to get a thread chaser to clean up the nuts, then go back with new bolts.
But first I would do my best to get all the parts to fit together plumb by gently bending or tweaking whatever needed it.
The chrome luggage rack on one of mine was twisted during shipping, I used 2x4's to straighten it without scratching it. Again, be creative but careful!
If it is the welded nut that is damaged, I would tap it out to the next size up, making sure that the next size up bolt will go through all the holes it will need to go through in the other parts.
I would drill it out and just put a nut behind it as a last resort as you will lose rigidity that way.
Good luck! Remember to do that PDI, it will save you headaches down the road!

Thanks for the advice Teknoyd. I did a half-PDI... I haven't opened up the CVT case, and I didn't change my hoses, yet... Wanna get more familiar with it, this is my first... I have checked all the wiring, found the stripped bolts while lock-tighting everything. I've changed the engine oil, but not the gear oil yet. Just found a few tutorials on getting the gear oil changed last night, and had my first day of MSF BRC today, so no time to do it yet...
Vibrating less with time is good! I'd imagined it would progress the other way! I'm a little scared to try to bend the lower muffler mount back out myself, cuz I'd have to take the back wheel off and hope it fits back on right when I'm done! That's kinda why I was thinking of putting a different nut on instead of trying to retap the one welded on there... Hmm... Would a good welder be able to weld a nut on after it's screwed in without welding the bolt?

I don't know about a welder being able to weld the nut without welding the bolt too. You'd have to run that one past a welder.
I see what you mean about fearing the risk of accidently tweaking the rear wheel. Hmm.
On the PDI, I would suggest changing the oil in the rear end. One of my bikes was shipped without any. Fortunately, I caught it first thing when I did the PDI before I road it.
Also, change out the fuel filter as soon as you can. It is pretty common for them to be in backwards or defective. It only takes a tiny particle or two getting into the carb to cause major headaches!
Later,

Well, I picked up some all-thread and double-nutted the outside end into the old nut. Got rid of the rattling noise... Adjusted my idle down a hair and found a bunch of acceleration from 40-60mph... Unfortunately, I'm now a month behind on getting my registration due to unforeseen circumstances :/

Bashan, nahh, I got the same manuals you did. I got a parts ordering book and a horrible owner's manual, both with comedic translations. I did print out the 200 page gy6 4stroke manual though. Helped with the engine rebuild today...

speedracer, yes, i did post that about 2 weeks ago... Terrible tragedy, the valves, piston, cylinder, but it's almost better now. I received all the parts on warranty, finally picked up a battery recharger today, and trying to be patient (not very well... I've tried starting 3x today, and no go yet.) I'm cranking, not catching to start, though. Back to the forums for more reading ;p

Well, after the top end rebuild, I got things working with the replacement parts (over a couple of weeks). My exhaust blew out after I got the top end just about right, and they agreed to send me a new exhaust, but I decided to go with a better SS exhaust rather than dealing with this again. Overall, I would say I've been getting the service I hoped for on a mail order scoot. The service has been good, I'm usually able to receive a email response and/or a phone call within 2 business days, and I do appreciate that. I got some used parts on my top end replacement, but he did tell me that before he sent them, and they were from a test bike at the warehouse, so it's not like the cylinder had been out sucking mud and hills...
GES + this forum = an overall happy, if sometimes frustrating experience.

They are terrible.Sent me a scooter with numerous damaged parts, disconnected hoses, wires, doesn't start.Obviously they do not provide any kind of support, don't answer phones, don't reply to email, there is no way to contact them. BBB claims on their site that they are out of business since mail sent to their address was returned as undeliverable and phone number is not being answered or listed. Also noticed other postings about them www.ripoffreport.com/directory/greenearthscooters-com.aspxI would advise anyone looking for a scooter to avoid them at all cost and find a reputable dealer.

I would agree with bijo62 ,Green Earth Scooters are extremely bad with any customer service support and/or post sales issues.Once you got the scooter and you have any problem with it,you are on your own.All the BS they list on their web site about customer service, warranty etc. is just that - BS.
They are cheap but there is probably a reason for that so consider if it is worth taking the risk or not since you might be spending a lot more in fixing it after you get it.

Ok explain to me why you didn't ever return a call when you promised you would.. I had the scooter torn apart in my driveway doing the the work you wanted me to do then would tell me you would call back and didn't.. I understood i was on my own when it came to the labor, but two weeks for parts when it took only 4 days to get the scooter, explain that one to me. Explain why my emails went unanswered, I em an understanding person, give me a reason for this, I was not a pest, I handled most of my problems myself or with the help of other posters here on scootdawgs.. Actually very few of the problems i had did i ever bother you with, as i felt you couldn't even return a simple phone call. I em not a competitor of yours, I don't sell scooters, just fix them now. And yes some of the ones I'm fixing now came from you. I would welcome a good explanation and I'm waiting to read one...
