I've been looking for an economical scooter truck ever since I bought my scoot. I have a XXL head, extra brain power you know ;D, and my full-face XXL helmet won't fit in most trunks. Some of the prices I've seen for cheaply made Chinese trunks are ridiculous. I noticed other Dawgs using this Rubbermaid ActionPacker for a trunk so I thought it was worth a try. My local Walmart has this particular ActionPacker on sale right now. I paid around $16.00 for the trunk and a couple bucks for bolts and washers. Total cost so far...less than $25.00 Remove worthless offending plastic. As you can see below the Chinese furnish 4 very convenient bolt locations once the plastic is removed so no ill-fitting metal brackets are required. Attach the trunk as pictured. I wanted it to look like a scooter trunk and not a ActionPacker so I went to Lowe's and bought a 3 1/2" x 15" satin aluminum door push. It covered the lettering nicely and it only cost $6.98. I may install another brake light or reflective tape later. I plan on using some black vinyl I have to make a backrest for the front of the trunk. That will cover the rest of the lettering. I'll post some pics when it's done.

Thanks for the Scooby Snacks y'all. I plan on adding some auxiliary lighting or reflectors to the metal strip. I may even use some fusion paint to make it match the scoot. After I finished the post I realized I didn't have a side beauty shot, I'll get one tomorrow.

I like it, looks very functional. May not be the coolest looking thing around but who cares with that much cargo space!

May not be the coolest looking thing around but who cares with that much cargo space! well give him a minute we havent seen the whole scoot yet, plus with that new paint that bonds with plastic shouldnt be hard to get a good matching color, let us wait for the total package.

Thanks for another Scooby Snack. The trunk is rather large but I need the space for my XXL full-face helmet. I added a reflector to the back before work this morning and plan on doing the backrest after work if I can round up the rest of the parts today. I will post a side view this evening. Krylon has Fusion paint in Safety Orange item# 2337 that should closely match my scoot. I need to find a retailer that stocks the color. I just called my local Sherwin-Williams store and they are checking to see if its available to them.

Throw a rubber-foam weather-strip around the seam for added weather protection. (Wind may force water into the box.)
Round-off the edges of the metal covers that you made, and it will look like it was intended to be there. Throw a bumper-sticker on there that says, "My other ride is a scooter too!"
You might want to make a metal plate for the inside of the container. Mount the bolts through that, so the container has more hold-down coverage. (I feel that those bolts may pull-through the plastic, at high speed, in time...)
Where the two holes are, on the rack, where the trunk does not slide-up all the way... Make a thin mount, for a passenger back-rest. Pad it with carpet-foam, and wrap it with a leather seat-skin cover. You can also mount the upper part of the back-rest to the trunk.
You can get cheap reflectors from any bike-shop, or walmart... They should just bolt-on.
Cool mod!

I would also reccomend adding somekind of locking mechanism to it for security purposes. May I ask how much that box sells for at walmart, caus now youve got me thinking about doing it.

isawhim...it's funny how great minds think alike. I'm doing most of the great ideas you mentioned. I'll probably use wood in the bottom of the trunk instead of metal if needed. So far it looks fine though. vonspyder...I gave about $16.00 for the box in the automotive section of Wally World. You have the ability to lock both sides. If you look closely on the left you can see a lock. I have one for the other side but its not in the picture. anhoa...I think your trunk is great and I actually considered buying that very same box and painting it with Fusion paint until I saw the ActionPacker. Now, on to today's mods. Dad brought some reflective tape and I installed it on the rear. We also made and installed a backrest. The concept is fine but I'm not happy with the vinyl I have, its too thick for nice ends and the color and texture are different from my seat. A trip to Hancock Fabrics will cure those problems. Here's the side shot I promised imagesinthewind and yes it can be painted with Fusion if you can find the color you want. www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic/ Still haven't heard anything back from Sherwin-Williams about the Safety Orange color. I can get it online in a 6 can case but I don't need that many. Thanks for the comments, ideas and inspiration. Y'all are great.

Just don't be tempted to load it up with to much weight. That could make your scooter pretty unstable. Otherwise, nice job!

Thanks for the tips and Scooby Snacks. I just went to the grocery store and picked up 2 large bags of chow, they fit with room to spare. I should have taken a pic. After using the scoot for while it's so nice to finally be able to use the scoot.

Did the rack come with the scoot? I have a motofino. Not the same model as yours. It doesn't have a rack on the back. The only rack I see is at the eco bike website for around 100 bucks. Too spendy for me.

Too spendy for me. Yes, the rack did come with my scoot. It was covered with the decorative plastic as pictured at the beginning of this thread. I'd give Vince at EcoBikeUSA a call, he's a nice guy and may get you a better price on a rack. I see Scooby Snacks have become Dawg Bones and I have gained another, thanks.

Nice work! It would look even better if it were all black. You can paint plastic with Krylon Fusion pain.

New pictures included this morning... Looks good I've considered painting the top of mine black. I believe it would make it look visually smaller.

Cool idea on the trunk. Hey add on some Nylon lock nuts and spring washers to the bottom of the bolts. It will keep it from getting loose. Tom
