Just got in my supposedly ncy transmission kit and main jet that i ordered from scootertronics almost a month ago. Boy was i excited to get it in but when i opened the box it was not ncy in fact the clutch they sent was a stock one painted red a stock variator fan on some knockoff variator and the jet wasnt even in there. The excuse i got over the phone was that they are moving and having problems with inventory. I think their website should not accept payments if they are unable to provide the goods that people are purchasing. I mean i can list a sale on bmw cars and ship out kias and blame it on inventory or moving to a new location. But thats bad for business but hey what do i know.

Dooooood! I 100% understand what you are talking about!I ordered a part and had nothing but excuses. I should share the email banter that ensued from my interaction. I've actually contemplated sharing it on several occasions, the guy does not understand customer service. He would rather trash other parts distributors like PFS and Scrappydog Scooters. Let me know if you want to see the emails, I might share them if coaxed enough.

They in general have no respect for Chinese clone scooters, and at least one of them has announced so publicly. This board is littered with Scootertronics complaints, though I think this is the first one I have heard where someone has received "knock-off" parts. I think it fits with their attitude though; counterfeit parts for counterfeit bikes.

Carolina Fun Machines - It is reciprocal relationship. Joel (MRP) spends a lot of time promoting Scootertronics as well on his blog and promoting them as the kind of dealer that others should aspire to. Just another facet of our little industry I suppose.

Hey Carolina Fun Machines, Maybe you can help me, I have emailed several dealers and noone has responded to my question.
I bought a NCY performance Clutch( wanted the bigger pads for better bell grab). Well put it on and I do not like the Strong Springs it came with. They must be 1500-2000 rated my scoot will not move until 4500 rpms. I want lighter springs so that it starts to move around 3000 or so rpms. SO I NATURALLY ordered 1000 NCY RATED SPRINGS and guess what they are to LONG they do not FIT THE NCY PERFORMANCE CLUTCH.
I emailed dealers asking what the NCY PERFORMANCE CLUCTH SPRINGS are rated at and If they have LIGHTER Springs that will fit. Nobody has yet responded and if they don't know at least email me and let me know one way or the other.
DO you happen to know and or have or can get Springs that will FIT the NCY PERFORMANCE CLUTCH? Lefty

Just another facet of our little industry I suppose. Matt If they are the kind of dealer that others should aspire to, then we are all in for a world of hurt. Matt, they apparently dont like you. "it cost a lot of money and time and PFS is not well at all..." "nobody else even sells the product you bought and no one else will I am the only one who does because I have a shop and know what to do with it PFS is a warehouse they have never worked on a scooter and never will, they just sit at computers all day where i am testing repairing upgrading" These are direct quotes(misspelling kept in place)from the emails I received from Michael at Scootertronics. And, yes, there is more.

Sure didn't see Scootertronics there now did we...

Carolina Fun Machines - Well, I guess that depends on how you feel about Joel... I'm not about to bad mouth him, as we are all part of the same industry but suffice to say that we choose to do things differently from him. What we view as a quality customer is different from Joel's definition. We aren't going to tell you how to run your dealership, nor will we choose favorites. We'll just try to provide parts that you can sell, and at a good margin and with good customer service. We work hard every day to shore up our purchasing and supply chain and to bring in new brands, and we hope that all of our customers continue to use our services and feel that we've earned their business. If not we always welcome any feedback and I am more than happy to speak to any of our customers personally if needed, just give me a shout here at the office 9-6 EST. capncrunch - Well, we all know that slander is the least creative form of marketing. Rest assured that PFS is in pretty good shape, and is actively working on new product and greater efficiency in our operations here to ensure a better experience for our customers. Mike is correct about the fact that we are primarily a warehouse. We source and purchase product and re-sell it to our customers as any part distributor would and should. Mike may choose not to purchase product from us for whatever reason, and that is his prerogative. We respect that, but companies like us allow dealerships to survive and thrive in our market. We are not a dealership and we do not have a repair department, so his guys probably do work on scooters more often than we do. This being said, saying that we have never worked on a scooter isn't quite right and I think anyone who attended Enviromoto's Twist and Gone event this past May will agree. We won 3 classes and the King of the Hill event, all with scooters that we built in house. (we do have an R&D section in our warehouse) We even had our King of the Hill winning scooter on display in our booth at the Indy Dealer Expo, and we'll have it there again next year as well. And then we took our scooters to Deals Gap, just for kicks. -Matt

That's good business. You don't bad mouth anyone, because you don't have to. If you do what you do and do it well, there is absolutely no reason to.
Just so you know, Michael's bad mouthing of PFS(as well as Scrappydog(no need for the Scrappy haters to chime in))stemmed from my frustration that I had ordered a part on his website that appeared to be in stock. I never received the part because it was never in stock, but they most assuredly charged my card. I pointed out the things that I like about the PFS website, like seeing that a part is or is not available and giving me the OPTION to wait for a notification of availability. Without asking me what I(the customer) would like, he returned my money. That, IMHO, is bad business. Ask me what I want, don't just react. Im an adult and can make my own informed decisions. But, in order to make these decisions I need to actually be informed of what is going on.
It gives me a great big grin to hear how well PFS performed at Twist and Gone! Im a little curious, Environmoto, how did you do?

Hey Carolina Fun Machines, Maybe you can help me, I have emailed several dealers and noone has responded to my question. Lefty Ok Troops, As I mentioned before I bought a NCY Performance Clutch which has bigger pads, but the Springs are to strong and require 4500 rpms to move my Trike. So naturally I ordered 1000 NCY springs thinking well NCY Springs are made for the NCY Clutch(WRONG MOOSE BREATH). The Springs do not fit they are to long. So I emailed a few of the dealers and the one I bought the springs from and asked what the springs in the NCY performance Clutch are rated at AND if they have Springs that FIT the Clutch. TO DATE NO ONE has responded because sorry to say they do not know and only sell the stuff. So I took it onto myself to find out WHY the springs are to long and maybe help others save their hard earned money and NOT ORDER Different Rated Springs IF they purchased a NCY Performance Clutch. I took the NCY Clutch apart and I took the OEM Clutch apart and found WHY the 1000,1500,2000 SPRINGS they sell you WILL NOT FIT the NCY Performance Clutch EVEN THOUGH the Springs are NCY SPRINGS(at least for the 150s). The Reason is this, the Studs that the Pads go on are spaced Differently. The OEM Studs are spaced out 2 13/16 while the NCY Clutch Studs are 2 11/16. So what I did is take the PADS off the NCY Mounting Bracket and took the OEM Clutch Bracket and SWAPPED the NCY PADS onto the OEM Bracket. Now I used the OEM SPRINGS which are EVEN LIGHTER than the 1000 rated Springs. SUCCESS!! I installed the Performance Clutch The Trike now starts to move right around 2200 RPMS. Not only that but now If I want I can use the 1000 rated BLUE springs I bought and are no longer throw aways. Lefty

Just alittle update guys, i sent back the bunk parts that scootertronics sent me. But guess what they didnt give back my money, it doesnt matter since i had it sent with signature confirmation and as of tommorow paypall will get my money back. It just goes to show how bad a business they are. They tried to cheat me and now they are trying to steal money that isnt theirs. I wish i could just drive there and jerk that guy out of his office and teach him some manners.

Not trying to defend them but did they say "we're not refunding your money" or have they just been non-responsive, i.e. too busy to respond? I'm not sure they are trying to defraud you, it's all in perception. Glad you will get your money back anyway.

not to sound like a prick but if you were in dispute with paypall with a buyer whom you have had contact with that said they didnt want the garbage you sent them. and that they would be sending it back and wanted a refund. And then the person sends you the stuff back priority mail with confirmation, wouldnt you think that you should refund their money? Its common sense to me but i could be thinking irrationally...

Well, for one thing I would send out the part that I had described in the advertisement! I definitely understand your frustration Brandon. I'm not trying to defend Scootertronics. I've heard some bad things about them, but then again it's just hearsay. I've never had an issue with them but then I've never ordered any parts from them.
I can see from the dealer perspective that they must have hundreds of orders to deal with each day and one or two might slip through with "bad customer service." Not that it's an excuse, but I know it happens. A customer who wanted to return a paid for scooter when they hadn't even taken delivery of it was all huffy to me about starting a credit card dispute but I ended up reselling it on his behalf (we DON'T do refunds) to another customer who LOVES the scooter. She actually bought it the same day I was consigning it. Amiable resolutions do exist. It's definitely bad form on THEIR part for not being responsive to your complaints.
As I said, glad you got your money refunded. Many times people don't.
