Today Honda announced a new model scooter for the U.S. market. It will be a 110cc Elite. They didn't say when it will be avaliable or what the price will be but they did mention affordable. It sure looks cool. I think Scoot! magazine got to check it out also. Maybe Honda is finally listening.

"05/08/2009 - TORRANCE, Calif. - American Honda is proud to announce the latest early introduction of another 2010-model-year machine, the Elite scooter. Modern, sporty styling, comfortable seating with two-up capacity and strong, responsive performance in a sleek and highly economical scooter are the hallmarks of the new 2010 Elite. This stylish new scooter has it all. Featuring a new 108cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected four-stroke engine and a light-handling chassis, the new Elite provides all the comfort and quality of a Honda in an affordable around-town runabout that anybody can enjoy. Looks slick! ;D
A far cry better than the old boxy elites.
The front wheel looks to be 12" and the back only 10"...Too bad they don't list all the specs, would be interesting to know.
FI is a nice touch. I expect an MSRP of $3500 based on the rest of their current pricing.

I think it's the European Lead 110. Check out Honda UK motorcycles.

Knowing Honda they'll price it around $4,000.00 instantly rendering it not popular.

I think it will be very popular. No doubt it will be more expensive than a China scoot but some people like to get what they pay for = quality and reliability.

I never cared for the look of the old Elite's. This is a nice looking scoot though.

another four stroke....Nice looking one though I would not expect a 2 stroke beyond 49cc's to be sold anywhere in the US in 2010. Mama EPA just about done killed em. Water cooled +EFI = mama EPA happy.

FI is a nice touch. I expect an MSRP of $3500 based on the rest of their current pricing. Considering my local Honda dealer is asking $6500 for a leftover 2008 Silverwing..Local yamaha dealer want's $4499 for a leftover 08 Majesty. Honda is a tad delusional if they think they can get $3500 for a 110cc.

Genuine Scooter Co. sells the Rattler 110 for $2699.00 and it's got a 2 stroke air cooled carb engine. I think $3500.00 for a 4 stroke liquid cooled F.I. engine Honda Elite sounds pretty good. JMHO $3000.00 would be right on target and they would sell like hotcakes! But I doubt that's gonna happen. It's A HONDA!

in europe we call it honda lead www.motoservices.com/scooter/honda-lead-110.htmthis evolution is really good the motor is the same used in thailand for honda click compact and powerfull a mix between air cooled (cylinder) and water cooled (cylinder head) even in laos they can't destroy it, driving in mud or dirt without taking any care it's priced 2500 euros in france with two years warranty a best buy i think for a city scooter

The old one reminded me more of a floor scrubber or commercial vacuum cleaner. This one is quite an improvement in the looks department.

Nice looking scooter...but if the price is at 3500+..then I think it belongs in the show room and not on the road. Look at Yamaha Zuma/Vino 125cc for 3000$. For 1/3 of the price, my Chinese is still running excellent at 49xx miles. ;D Anhoa 49xx miles and counting... Just got the steering column tighten up yesterday. Too many elephant holes these days

Oh boy another small displacement scooter to an already flooded market with more models than you can shake a stick at. When are the manufacturers gonna get some of the bigger 300cc and up models available. Being a Honda I'm sure it will be an awesome and reliable scooter. I do like the flatter style seat, so us bigger guys can stretch out if needed. Looking at the European market with envy on there model selection.

I would not expect a 2 stroke beyond 49cc's to be sold anywhere in the US in 2010. Mama EPA just about done killed em. The restrictions for 2-stroke scooters are anything over 180ccs, so yes, there are now and still will be 2-stroke scooters in the 50-150cc range available for 2010 and beyond. -Rich

As for pricing Honda just never gets it. The DN01 went from 14499, to 15599 on the website. Dealers in the east are discounting them to 12499, and probably less. Just too high a cost for for a 680, that is basically a scooter. The Aprilia Mana 800cc is half the cost, but unfortunately has too high a seat. As for the Elite probably 4000+, since the 50cc is 2300.00. Expect to see the 250cc at around 6000.00 or a 450 cc at 7000.00 The silverwing is 8500.00.

That looks nice, but the power is rated at 8.8HP, 2 valve sohc head... That's a tad underwhelming. BTW, the '87 Elite 150 looked very smooth, not at all like the older boxy models. But it didn't sell then, and this one won't sell now.

Great, now send the SH300 and I'll break out my checkbook. A 250-400cc scooter is defiantly lacking in Honda's US line up.

Honda 150cc, 279 lb., 15 HP, top speed 55 MPH with EFI?...for 4500$? Is this a joke?..oh.I forgot that it has a T at the end. SH150iT. And this one has 108cc with EFI..so what's the top speed?..45MPH? for how much?..may be 4000$? Anhoa

Yeah I gotta agree.... $3grand for only 45mph? The Zuma125 will get 60mph and CFmotos EFI bike can easily pull 70mph... And for that kinda money you can get extras.... like fully windproof winter riding outfits.

And for that kinda money you can get extras.... like fully windproof winter riding outfits. I doubt a 110cc will only do 45mph. I'd be surprised if it weren't capable of at least 55mph. I found a review of the Lead 100 that claims it will do 53, which means the 110 should do a little better than that. Whoever wrote that assessment of 45mph for this scooter wasn't thinking logically. If you figure, the Elite 80 can do over 45mph, so it wouldn't make sense for a 110cc with FI to do no better. I'd be unsurprized if the Elite 110 wouldn't give a Vino 125 a run for its money...and of course, it looks better than the Vino.

I wouldn't be suprised if the Elite 110 goes 55mph maybe 60. As far as the SH150i I bet it'll do 65mph maybe 70.
