my battery died when i keep trying to start it when i installed my big bore kit i got it started none of the gauges or lights work with battery attached but everything works when i unplug the battery and start it

I had the same issue with mine after pulling it out of storage for 3 years. You are right on the money. The dead batt pulls all the stators current and there is not enough left for powering the lights...I think...don't mark my words.

If the lights come on with a turn of the key then yes . Most are powered by the stator well the headlight is . Tail and blinkers run off the battery . Check the bulb as its easy to burnout and try both beams

charge the battery up and see if that takes care of it it can be pulling all of the charge from you system

blinkers brake lights everything works with battery unplugged and nothing with it plugged in

yup if my battery is dead my lights will not work and my horn will sound pathetic. Charge it!
