I have a cy50 t3 50cc GY6 4 stroke. today all of the sudden with no previous signs the scoot died idling stopped at a light. Now I start the scoot up and have to push the throttle to keep it going. I played with the idle speed on the carb and had it at full throttle that will keep it running but then once in a while it will jump. I put the idle back down to where it will die just keep pushing the throttle to keep it running at stops. I changed the fuel filter no change. If the scoot sits for a while it starts up normal and then jumps and then after a couple of mins it will die. What could cause this? It has about 1200 miles on it. Is this a valve adjustment issue, carb, or what? Thanks for reading the long post.

Sounds like a gummy carb/lines. It'll run for a minute or two cuz its using the left over fuel in the bowl. Are you using the fuel filters it came with or aftermarket? Just curious cuz the fuel filters that come with bikes are really low grade. I had the same problem with my old50cc and new filters/lines and a carb cleaning did the trick.

Adjust the valves.

It might be running lean? Air/fuel mixture adjust?

I guarantee it's the valves. Adjust to .004" intake and .005" exhaust.
