I have 3 Meitian 50's that are all doing the same thing. Start them, then run fine for a minute or less then act as if they run out of gas. After that its hard to get them to restart. I've replaced carbs, adjusted valves and fuel filters. Does this problem sound familiar? ??

Sounds as if the vacuum operated fuel valve may not be opening. Might be stopped up, or might have a kink in the vacuum line or the fuel line. Might have the vacuum line disconnected. I have a Meitian, and it runs fine with the original carb, fuel filter, etc.

Yeah the fuel valves is the only thing I haven't replaced because we don't have them in stock right now. Isnt there a mod to do to those valves?

Yeah the fuel valves is the only thing I haven't replaced because we don't have them in stock right now. Isnt there a mod to do to those valves? No mod, just test them. The petcock has a vacuum control hose that goes from the end most fitting on the valve to the manifold. If you pull that vacuum hose off the manifold and suck on the hose then the valve will open and send fuel to the carb. To test it just pull the fuel hose off the carb, that's the other hose coming from the valve, and hold it over a container while you suck on the control hose to see if gas flows freely. Make sure you hold the end of the gas hose at approximately the same level as the carb inlet. Gas doesn't doesn't have to come ripping out but it shouldn't come out in drops either. If it comes out well only for a while and then slows you may want to try loosening the gas cap or check if the cap is vented. If air can't get in to the tank then fuel can't come out.

add a manual petcock, take the fuel valve off find a drill bit that fits inside the nipple and drill out the diaphram. get some carb vacuum caps and put one on the intake and one on the vacuum side of the fuel valve. solved all my fuel delivery problems.

My Roketta 50cc is doing the same thing. I pulled the the upper line off the petcock ( the one going to the carb), and hit the starter. No problems with fuel comming out, any other things I need to look at?

Is there a vent valve for the gas tank? Its acting like its getting gas for a few seconds and then runs out.

My son bought a Meitian and was having the same problem after 1,100 miles...I finally tracked it down to a bad fuel gauge float inside the fuel tank.
ACTUALLY, the float is in pieces inside the fuel tank, apparently the cheap Chinese plastics aren't compatible with 10% gasohol. I started having problems about the same time that the fuel gauge went to empty and stayed there.
SO, my next job is to clean the tank, replace the float, clean/replace the petcock, thoroughly clean or replace the carburetor. What a PITA!!!
